Questionnaire on Team Performance
P6 - review the team’s overall effectiveness, together with your contribution to achieving the goals, receiving and providing feedback to other team members.

Question 1 - Did you share ideas? The sharing of ideas was very useful in every group due to the fact it requires more than one person’s input. I believe that I had a lot to say in the group ideas, which resulted to the groups progress, the first major input is coming up with the product and information about it. There were also others in the group who shared their ideas, for example Chenice was the person who actually came up with the product name and Mako who decided the price of the product. Therefore as a group I believe we shared a lot of ideas and worked well as a whole.

Question 2 - Did you communicate effectively with one another? Communication is rather important to the progress of our team; it involves listening and talking effectively. As I was the team leader only for temporarily, I had to make sure everyone in the group was communicating well and listening to each other’s ideas and opinions. When I asked the group how well they thought we communicated Rashan, Jasmine, Chenice, Chloe and Mako that everyone in the group had to contribute to ideas and listen to each other effectively told I, however Rashan thought there could have been improvements and more ideas shared. Therefore we all communicated effectively with one another but could of have more down on paper.

Question 3 - How did you distribute the tasks? When it came down to everyone handling their tasks, we all took on our roles from the Belbin roles and allocated to each member of the group. For example I allocated jasmine to be the team worker as she is very caring and person orientated so therefore the role would fit her perfectly. Distributing tasks to everyone was seen as a democracy as everyone voted who should have each role for example me and Jasmine wanted to be the second leader so we came to the decision to have a vote

Firstly, we decided that each person developed an own idea about the financial report and accounting challenge. Then we intended to assign tasks for every group member accounting to structure which included in task details. Each person should analyze their own point about challenge and we allocated group parts, such as introduction, by personal willing. I took responsibility of making a conclusion of report and making up all parts from others. Other members took care of title, executive summary, introduction , methodology etc. Basically, we did work as a group. We would share our ideas though group message. For example, we tried to avoid to talk about the same point when we did our personal parts. When we finished everyone’s issues, we combined those 5 ideas together. And then we could continue to write down introduction or conclusion.…

    1. I would ensure that relations with customers and clients demonstrate that diversity is valued by my business through: ensuring staff relations with customers and clients; anti-discrimination policies to ensure staff do not discriminate against customers and clients and providing training staff on how to work effectively with diversity. I would also try to create and implement a strategy to create a culture of diversity that would permeate every department and function of the organisation. I would document the skills, knowledge and experience of each employee so I could use it to determinate team objectives and provide service to customers on a global basis; I would definitelly encourage individual differences, so the employees would be inspired to perform to their highest ability.…

In the P5 assignment I was given a task to produce a presentation which demonstrates team working as part of a team towards achieving specific goals. In the presentation the following points were included; the benefits of team working, theories of team working and theories of leadership. Each team member in the team was given a specific role to complete which lead to the task ultimately being completed. I was given the role to find information through research about Tuckman’s four stages of team development, Aman was allocated to a role where he had to produce slides for Belbin’s theory, Boris was given the role to produce slides about John Adair and finally Ansaar had the role to provide a few slides about the benefits of team working.…

As part of my Business Innovation Development Project Unit, I had the opportunity to put myself into group with my friends or people I believed I could work well with. In the first stages of our group we all tried to get to know each other more through analysing personality and learning types’ test that we previously undertook. I realise we were going through the normal stages of the team formation in particular forming and norming (Tuckman, 1965). In my assignment group we had all Belbin team roles which helped us perform well throughout our project and also helped us to identify other team members’ behavioural strengths and weaknesses. During the initial stages of the group getting together I believed it was important that we all had a clear objective and somewhat of a pathway of what we wanted to achieve and that everyone shared duties within the group. My group members had roles such as researching the market to see if there is a demand for Youni which was our product for university students, they also dealt with the financial side of our product and making analysis between our product and our competitor’s product.…

Communication is essential in every aspect of life. Communication is the exchange and flow of ideas or information between people. It involves thinking of an idea and transmitting it to a receiver. There are many physical and physiological barriers to communication that can lead to problems in the workplace. Learning how to communicate effectively to your team is an important task for leaders. Leaders must train, counsel, supervise, and evaluate their team daily. The communication process involves three primary steps or skills that are used by everyone; thought, encoding and decoding (Clark, 2013). A leader’s ability to communicate effectively has evolved over time as the new generation has entered the workforce. Characteristics, age, and technology all play a role in how leaders communicate today.…

Group communication relies on prior understanding of the group objectives and the group's culture. Unlike individual communication, individuals in a group do not provide feedback directly to one another. Rather, they provide feedback to be addressed by the entire group. With group communication, every participant’s input is necessary to help the group comprehend the objectives so that the whole group can benefit and arrive at mutual understanding. Therefore, in individual communication, the exchange of ideas and opinion is specific to the two individuals involved. Whereas, group communication involves many people and the communication is not specific to just one person. Group communication includes the input of many people which makes the process more difficult. Everyone in the group contributes ideas that need consideration. Members of a group want to feel that their input is having impact on the group dynamics.…
