The Matrix is a movie made by the Wachowski brothers (siblings now) in 1999. It is one of the most significant science-fiction movies ever made. This is mainly because of the interesting plot, as well as the special effects. I believe The Matrix is a very interesting movie. However, after watching it, the movie raised quite a few questions with me.
First of all, the question we all ask after the movie. Is the Matrix real? What if our life is really just set in a virtual world, so that we don’t know about the truth about what is really happening? I find it hard to believe that the Matrix is real, but isn’t that what all people in the Matrix think? There is no way we can discount the possibility that the world we are living in is a virtual world. There is one way though. In this world, we don’t have agents or anyone with superpowers (at least I hope not…). However, it might be that no one has ever escaped the Matrix, so there is no need for agents…
Secondly, another question the movie raises for me is “What would life be like in the future if the story of The Matrix comes true?” By this, I mean life in Zion, which is the only human city left in the future. Would the humans there be worried about the robots? I believe they probably would be, because they could be overrun by the robots at any time. Also, what would it feel like to be the only natural humans left? Would you feel a sense of pride, or a sense of responsibility to continue on our race?
To conclude, I believe The Matrix is a very interesting movie, but it raises a lot of questions that stay in our mind for a while. However, this is what the Wachowskis were aiming for, which is what makes it such a well-executed
