Another major consequence is that household income is varies largely between white households, and every other household, with white household income being thirteen time higher than that of an African-American household (Tanzina Vega 2013). Also other races are incarcerated, not only at higher rates, but usually with much harsher punishments. I brought up Brock Turner in my discussion who only served three months for raping an unconscious woman, yet 53% percent of federal prisoners are serving typically large prison sentences for nonviolent drug related offenses (Prisons, Jails, and People Arrested for Drugs).
