Have you ever wondered who the person is that takes your x-ray? Then they take 2 hours to get your results back. They are radiologists who are specialized physicians that utilize an array of techniques and equipment (Colucci). These radiologists have revolutionized diagnosis disease and the people who invented radiology were geniuses. It is very hard to get the job and it is in public need a lot right now. This job benefits everyone. The history of radiology is pretty big.
The history of radiology is pretty big compared to a lot of other professions. Radiology has existed for over a century (history of radiology). On December 28, 1895 Wilhelm, Ron invented the x-ray, which was a big step forward for the health of the people. The invention of the x-ray was probably the biggest step to radiology. Until George Eastman invented film, which allowed for a better view of the bones in the body which helped Radiologist. The name of the radiologist comes from radiation, which is what radiologist use to look inside the body. (history of radiology) At first they did not know that sometimes radiation can cause injury of even death. To improve their equipment and to stop the new problem the Society of Radiology was born in 1920 (history of radiology) . Which radiology has also influenced back. The reason radiology is influenced by technology the most is because that’s what they work with the most in their career. The public demand for radiology is high because some stupid kid that break his arm swinging from a basketball goal and falling. There are common problems that the radiologists have to deal with. Like a Machine not working or a patent has a serious illness that is very contagious. They have to deal with a long schedule some radiologist work 12 hour shifts (Colucci).
