Random Thoughts: Disneyland and Baby Duck Hats
One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh, no," I said. "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬Better not take a dog on the space shuttle, because if he sticks his head out when you're coming home his face might burn up.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬If you go parachuting, and your parachute doesn't open, and you friends are all watching you fall, I think a funny gag would be to pretend you were swimming.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."
I think a good product would be "Baby Duck Hat". It's a fake baby duck, which you strap on top of your head. Then you go swimming underwater until you find a mommy duck and her babies, and you join them. Then, all of a sudden, you stand up out of the water and roar like Godzilla. Man, those ducks really take off! Also, Baby Duck Hat is good for parties.
Broken promises don't upset me. I just think, why did they believe me?
Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I was an ant and she fell on me. Then it wouldn't seem quite so funny.
I hope some animal never bores a hole in my head and lays its eggs in my brain, because later you might think you're having a good idea but it’s just eggs hatching.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬If your friend is already dead, and being eaten by vultures, I think it's okay to feed some bits of your friend to one of the vultures, to teach him to do some tricks. But only if you're serious about adopting

The most clear way this is done is through the repeated use of situational irony. There is clear irony that the teenage boy would arrive in the night, obviously to preserve secrecy from the girl’s parents, for it only to turn out that the parents are aware he's there but also taking part in eating the skittles that the boy throws. Irony is also evident in the actions of the police officer, robber, and the whole family in the house. The common reaction of a family to a robber in their house is fear, not stopping to eat Skittles and the same could be said about a robber's reaction to a…

This is an entertaining book for younger readers that poses the question "What is the hokey pokey really all about?" I think young children will laugh at the illustrations of all the various animals dancing the hokey pokey. The book has a good message at the end that reveals that it is all about having fun together which is a good message for students. I might read this book to preschool or kindergarten students and let them dance the hokey pokey for a wiggle break or have it in my classroom library.…

We were on our way to Canobie Lake Park. It had been a long two hours, but my dad was playing comedian albums from his phone, so we were preoccupied. “Are we almost there?” my brother asked. “No, were not stop asking.” Little brothers can be so annoying with their questions. We were almost there just five minutes to go. The view was so gorgeous. The lake was glistening from the sun. I had been to focused on the view and before I knew it we were at the…

There once was a Student, Teacher, Chef , Principal, and five more students. They were all in Bush Middle School, but they were going to the Great Alamo the most famous place in all of Texas. The Student was on the Bus that was taking them to the Alamo, but of course all Sixth graders get bored extremely easily. “I’m bored can we do something fun,” Said Student one. “Well we can tell some stories on our way to the Great Alamo,” the teacher responded. “In fact I have a great story that I can tell to everyone that is on the bus,” the teacher added. “Okay, I hope it is good,” the Principal said cheerfully.…

Three years ago, I decided to help out at the Valley Children’s Museum (VCM), a non-profit organization which brings play-based creative learning to younger children. What started out as a weekend project, helping the staff organize activities for 2-10 year olds, became a passion to help children. I was inspired by the laughs and the excitement in the eyes of these children who otherwise had limited opportunities to experience the recreational activities that we take for granted. Through these interactions, I learned that compassion, encouragement, and patience are the most important traits needed to gain their trust. I realize that children are impressionable at this age, and I feel it is important to guide them in the direction of wanting to learn and discover things that would lead to a more productive and meaningful…

There were about five children playing “house.” In the family there was a child pretending to be the mommy, the daddy, the older brother, the younger sister, and the puppy. The mommy was making dinner while the daddy was watching television and supervising the children while they did their homework. The young girl who was acting as the puppy gave out a few occasional “ruffs” to make her presence known. The young girl, who assumed her role as the mother, yelled out “dinners ready.” The two young kids pretending to be the children stopped doing homework and sat down at the dinner table. The young girl playing the mom sternly said to her children “be careful, the food is very hot. It just came out of the oven.” They continued this story for the…

Malls are a wonderous place to kids. There’s the food court with a variety of delicacies. Clothes boutiques where the opportunities to play dress up are limitless. There’s also the toy store: a heaven on Earth for playful children, and I was one of them. The toy store was an addiction for me. Getting lost in its maze of aisles was a routine of mine every single time I visited. Well, nearly every single time. On one particular visit, I, a little four-year-old, got lost in the mall. Now, people often go through difficult passages in life where the feeling of lostness is needed in order to complete a task. They will feel lost in their emotions, in their soul, and in their confidence. Only in losing themselves will they find who they are. At a very young age, I found some connection with this lesson. By adapting to a situation where one is lost, people are sent down a road of self-discovery and find their true nature in tests that teaches them how to use resources,…

They just couldn’t stop laughing, despite the vexed ambiance they had set around them. A mere glance to one another served as vinegar to baking soda, resulting in a volcanic eruption of laughter. As the monotonous sermon continued, the antsy children could not help but make each trickling minute more enjoyable. Phrases and words, not to mention metaphors and similes, were one of the several targets used as a source of entertainment. When the priest compared the stubbornness found in people to goats, the imaginative minds inherent in the children envisaged humans with heads of goats and goats with heads of humans.…
