A big argument in our schools lately is about our dress codes. We should be teaching young men to not discriminate women. Instead, we’re teaching young women that their education is not as important as them not distracting a male student. The school should be there in support for a young lady if harassed instead of immediately assuming they were asking for it. No one asks for this. Our schools should teach everyone right from wrong instead of allowing girls to walk out of school alone and afraid. If someone can teach a puppy the word “no”, then surely a young man can learn it too.
Rape culture shows the way in which society blames victims of sexual assault and normalize male sexual violence. Rape is not normal. Moving forward from rape and bettering our society for all generations to come is a must. One way to do this to face that the real problems are violent masculinity and victim blaming. We also need to get the media up to date and to end rape jokes. Everything is always put on the victim, and when it’s not our media starts talking down on feminist.
