Shattered tiles crunched beneath the soles of my shoes; the destruction of the ground was accompanied by the disheartening sign of fractured and partial columns haphazardly dotting the dreary landscape. Gaze surveying the remainder of what I considered the consequences of a ruined city, I noticed the emerging towers at the horizon.

As far as my eyesight allowed me to view, decimated landmarks defaced the eerily silent entrance point. Other figures, many clad in a similar outfit as my own — modest black jeans and a simple tee of miscellaneous graphics. A cooling breeze, enough to ruffle my already disheveled hair and summon fragments of dirt into the air, traversed through the area. No definite path was marked for the players;

Indistinct the majority were, but the few I managed to registered contained statements too brash to allow me to go unperturbed.

The players I still could see appeared to endure similar scenarios. Some, however, collapsed. One was stricken with apprehension. His resolve wavered. Until a bubble descended and hovered inches from his faces.

I couldn’t make out what it said, but the player dissolved into nothing before I could formulate a theory. Huh, I was left to wonder to where he disappeared.

More walking ensued. For the beginning half of the game, I failed to encounter grand predicaments. I watched several players fall and dissipate like the first.

However, the viridescent shades of rolling hills and towering trees languidly melted into the muted hues of grays and their disappearance became nothing more than an abiding apparition. The quality was solidified and sturdier than SQUARE ONE, but otherwise the second city was much like the beginning.

It wasn’t until I found myself gawking in the direction of an seemingly unclimbable hill (courtesy of my lovely fear of heights) that I received the floating bubble of fate.

    BGF leader Ray Ray Browing was especially masterful in manipulation. While running a quite lucrative drug smuggling operation via the Columbian drug cartel, he quite successfully sidelined a reputation among local inner city neighborhoods as being an organization that cheerfully gave to those in need. This tactic had a sinister side to it however as there was a cost with dealing with a gang of this magnitude. Valdemar elaborates further on the fact that under the Browning administration, profits were used to pay the grocery and utility bills of the families that resided in the homes surrounding the residences they occupied along with paying neighborhood teens to monitor police scanners and even younger children to report if any strange people…

    After sometime from war, the place became a graveyard; the amount of corpse on the ground was uncountable. Smoke and bullets flying in the air created somewhat of a barrier that hindered our sight. The intense feeling of sadness and death captured the area like a big net. The mad sky started crying making the place damp and a worse battlefield. A while passed before the air and smoke got…

    A poem that describes bombed cities and destroyed buildings is nothing short of a courageous description. Billy Collins wrote one such poem, entitled, “Building with its Face Blown Off.” Collins’ poem is written in free verse construction and follows that characteristic throughout. The poem very vividly describes a blown up or destroyed building’s remains and ties in the emotion it has within it. The description of Billy Collins’ “Building with its Face Blown Off” is a detailed and involved summary involving many emotions and lots of details about the affects of a building that has been bombed.…

    This recollection jolts me right back into that moment. Wide awake now, rubbing my eyes, I was told of planes flying into towers, countless deaths and unspeakable chaos. "Turn on the T.V!" he yelled over the noise. That is when the disaster took on great magnitude. Every channel on T.V save two, were static. With sleep in my head, I stumbled my way outside only to see one of New York's greatest monuments felled and the other, smoking and looking to crumble at any moment.…

    New Madrid Earthquake

    The results of these earthquakes was devastating. Trees were up rooted and looked to be tossed around like toothpicks. There was wide spread damage extending from St. Louis to all the way to Pennsylvania where supposedly the Liberty bell rang from the strong quakes.(Nuttli) Thirty miles south, in the river town of what is today Caruthersville, Missouri, all twenty houses were destroyed, and the surrounding land was rendered almost unrecognizable. The ground rolled in several-foot-high waves until they burst, hurling up geysers of water, sand, and a charcoal-like substance. Giant fissures swallowed buildings, along with anyone inside.…

    “Shaking off from my spirit what must have been a dream, I scanned more narrowly the real aspect of the building. Its principal feature seemed to be that of an excessive antiquity. The discoloration of ages had been great. Minute fungi overspread the whole exterior, hanging in a fine tangled web-work from the eaves. Yet all this was apart from any extraordinary dilapidation. No portion of the masonry had fallen; and there appeared to be a wild inconsistency between its still perfect adaptation of parts, and the crumbling condition of the individual stones. In this there was much that reminded me of the specious totality of old wood-work which has rotted for long years in some neglected vault, with no disturbance from the breath of the external air. Beyond this indication of extensive decay, however, the fabric gave little token of instability. Perhaps the eye of a scrutinizing observer might have discovered a barely perceptible fissure, which, extending from the roof of the building in front, made its way down the wall in a zigzag direction, until it became lost in the sullen waters of the tarn.” (pp.5)…

    “Charred and limbless trunks of trees stretching away on every side. Ash moving over the road and the sagging hands of blind wire strung from the blackened light poles whining thinly in the wind… He got the binoculars out of the cart and stood in the road and glassed the plain down there where the shape of a city stood in the greyness like charcoal drawing sketched across the waste.” (9)…

    All houses and buildings looked dark and dreary, almost like theres no hope in advancing the town. In Edward Scissor hands the people and their houses had bright, exciting colors. Those living in the American colonies in the seventeenth century faced many challenges. These tensions of political, social, religious and economic natures came from abroad and within. Influences of the political and economic nature from abroad onto the established American colonies shifted the shape and nature of the colonies; whereas, the social and religious tensions from abroad tended to create new colonies. The Quakers, for instance, were a group of English Protestants who left England in search of a new home for “their own religion and the own distinctive social order” (Brinkley, Alan. " Transplantations and Borderlands."…

    The city was overwhelming, there were so many lights, like Times Square on a multiplier. As I’d saunter, I’d take in my surroundings.
