Coming from both a financially disadvantaged school and family, I believe in the necessity of providing delicate assistance for lower income earners to gather opportunities for education, training and employment. In studying the B. of Economics, I hope to become involved in advising government fiscal policies and working with the RBA in advising monetary policies or work with international organisations such as OECD, IMF or the World Bank. I aspire to play a role in ensuring that economic prosperity is matched with a fairer distribution of income, increased productive capacity and environmental sustainability, allowing for more sustainable growth and a higher quality of life for citizens which are important for Australia’s position against a competitive global environment. I believe that the B. of Economics course at The University of Sydney offers an incredible chance to fulfil my hopes by equipping me with skills of analysis, reasoning, advocacy and understanding which are important for success in our increasingly globalised world.
