MY REACTION PAPER
(MEET JOE BLACK)

As I have watched the movie entitled “Meet Joe Black”, I was surprised by the flow of the story. The story is all about Bill (Anthony Hopkins), a multimillionaire who run a successful empire for the past forty years in New York. But, after his wife passes away he feels empty and becomes convinced that Death is now after him too. He hears strange voices in his head, mimicking his own words, but they are phony and ridicule him in every possible manner. Comparing to our lesson today, there are some part of the story that has been connected to our lesson.
Susan (daughter of Bill) is one of the Board members of their business. She had a boyfriend named Drew. Unknown to Bill, Drew is conspiring with a enemy of Bill’s who is bidding to acquire Parish Communications. Drew capitalizes on Bill’s strange behavior. He uses information inadvertently given to him by Bill’s son-in-law Quiance and convinces the board to vote Bill out as Chairman. He also persuades the Board to approve the merger which Bill had decided to oppose. Quince is devastated by what happens to Bill as all but one other member of the board vote him out. Joe as the Internal Revenue Supervisor agent, uses his knowledge of Drew’s actions and intimidates. Drew into resigning from the company and Board and to leaving Susan Joe helps Bill reinstated as Chairman of the Board. As stated in the general provisions removal of directors may be removed from the office by a vote of two-thirds of the members, but at the story only one votes received to remove Mr. Bill so it’s not approved. Provided, however; that such removal shall take place either at a regular meeting of the corporation or at a special meeting.
A lesson that I had learned at this movie is don’t trust anyone especially in the field of business. The one who will you trust is your family only.

Elizabeth Bishop’s “The Hanging of the Mouse”, places animals in the roles of humans in reference to an execution. The writer uses animals to replace humans to possibly convey a message or point of view towards the death penalty. In the story, the mouse is being executed for what we believe is some sort of crime. It isn’t clear whether or not the mouse actually committed a crime, but we are led to believe that an act occurred in which caused the mouse to be executed on this particular day.…

Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup is the world's largest volunteer effort for ocean's health. Each year, thousands of volunteers from around the globe participate, clearing tons of trash from coastlines, rivers and lakes and recording every piece of trash collected. On a beautiful, hot, sunny and a little bit rainy Saturday, we participated in the Annual International Coastal Cleanup at Freedom Island near the Manila-Cavite Expressway. It started at 8:00 am and was well organised. We brought our own bags, gloves and even sticks to grab the rubbish with. We patrolled the beach looking for litter and found mainly small pieces like bottle tops, cigarette butts, shoes, slippers, plastics and foams. It was saddening to see how much plastic you actually find on a relatively “clean” beach.…

“No man is an island” --- an almost clichéd saying everyone knows. I can’t completely say I’m an island, I can’t say I’m not either. It usually depends upon the situations raised by life’s unique design. I was brought up by my parents to be a respectful, justice-wise, humble person. But in every person’s lives lies the process of making one’s own personality.…

    1. Technology integration was the topic of this week’s chapter assignment. The chapterdiscussed two learning theories for a foundation to integration: Directed models andConstructivist models. The directed theory revolves around behavior and the processingof information. The constructivist theory deals with more of a “hands on” and socialaspect approach. I would imagine most students at the early levels of learning are morevisual and social learners taking more from experiences than a book. I guess it justdepends on your beliefs and how you can best implement a strategy based upon yourclassroom. I personally feel that the classrooms in Piaget’s day were a lot less diversethan today’s. I think a teacher’s theory should be like a floating floor adjusting to its newroom constantly. Integrating technology into a classroom can be very tedious and there are many thingsthat teachers need to take under consideration. The (TIP) or Technology Integration Planis a model that is used to “help teachers (especially those new to technology) plan foreffective classroom uses of technology” (Roblyer & Doering, 2010). I was prettyimpressed with the model and how it went into detail with each of its phases. The phasesare broken down easy with the teacher in mind. The first stage allows teachers to setlearning goals for themselves. The next phase assists the teacher in deciding whether thelesson would be better with or without technology. I mean, it really breaks it down verywell with each of its six stages. There is also a lot of information in books and online. Ifound a pretty cool article that discussed seven different ways teachers could integratetechnology into the classroom. Create a clear vision of what a technological classroomlooks like, build an on-campus and online learning network, and invest in yourself as ateacher. These are just a few things that will help in integrating technology into theclassroom. The chapter discusses vital conditions to be present before and…
