The film was a great watch especially for techno-geeks like me. Not that I have each and every gadget ever made by man, but we can say that I am easily amazed and curious about a lot of things including computers and such.
Pirates of Silicon Valley shows a part of the history of computers, how it develops, and a part of the rivalry between the two main competitors of this age, Apple and Microsoft. The film shows how Steve Jobs of Apple Computers is easily deceived by Bill Gates of Microsoft whom he refers to as “Big Brother” after some time. It also shows us the complete transformation of Steve Jobs from a long-haired and bearded man to a neat-looking professional in order to sell their stuff and how Bill “Nerdy” Gates became the wealthiest man today.
Steve Jobs is shown and said to be obsessed in putting IBM down. IBM (International Business Machines) is the top selling company in the computer or technology industry at their time. He is a great man indeed especially in getting what he wants but he wouldn’t achieve any of the things he is proud of without the help of his friend, Steve Wozniak. We really have to credit our friends and family every time luck comes our way.
On the other hand, we got a glimpse of the intelligence of Bill Gates especially when it comes to business talks. He can easily convince a person in any way he can think of and have things go his way.
The movie shows balance in a way that it doesn’t just show computer stuffs all the time but instead, it also shows Steve Jobs’ complicated family life.
I’m quite certain that most of the people who have watched the film will say that “Steve Jobs is insane” or “he is crazy” or “he probably have brain problems” and so on and so forth. Maybe he does but without him, you wouldn’t have your laptops, macs, pads or music players with a bitten apple logo where most people would go “Wooooooooow!”; and you’ll never experience a bit of that glorious, popularity
