Reaction Paper on The Expo
1. Thesis Presentation
a. One of the presentations was the Face Recognition System. This is where you will take a picture and your picture will be recognizing if it’s on the database or not. The system had two face algorithms which are the Eigenface and the Fisherface. They said that when you have a lower score the more likely that your picture will be recognized.
b. I have learned that there’s an algorithm and calculation on face recognition which are the Identification rate, false alarm rate, verification rate and the false acceptance rate.
2. Network Presentation a. The second presenter of the network presentation was the Baguio City Police Office. The network design is a Home-based network and independent ISP with a server infrastructure. The only problem was that they had low internet connection and they have different network. There network design made use of vlan, infrastructure security, Layer 2 Trunking, Port Security, secure shell and Ether channels.
b. As a Network Administrator student I would have suggested that they would also include VPN (Virtual Private Network) for they would have a much better secure network and database.
3. Software Presentation a. The University Website Shoppe is a E-Commerce site. Its users mostly will be students where they can buy, sell or trade items. There are also tutorials, guidelines and repair service to help the student on their school needs. There is also an access level on the website the admin can only accept post of items that only relates to student needs.
b. There’s already a website for buying and selling stuff. The presentation of the group was great it really is the type of presentation done in Expos’
