Theses reality TV celebrities have a huge following ranging from all age groups. With anything, it has its pros and cons.
Reality TV can also destroy the lives of the people that sign up to be on these shows. Being under the media microscope and constantly being scrutinized. Most people have no idea how mentally challenging this can be. Some people sign up for these shows because they think they will become famous and make a lot of money. However, giving someone fame and fortune can drastically change people in not always in the most positive way. Generally athletes have representation that helps guide them through these changes but to most others have no guidance until things really fall apart. Divorce, mismanaged finances, and families split apart are a common downfall for these reality TV stars. Hopefully the audience of these reality stars can learn from their mistakes.
There can be positive effects of reality TV. For one example the popular show 16 and Pregnant broadcasted on MTV. Teen births were down in the year 2014, due to teen education in schools of course, but also teenagers can relate more to a reality show of a young teen going through pregnancy and having a baby. A woman having a child is never easy no matter what age you are but having a child as a child there are so many difficulties. You are not financial stable, it is very difficult to finish high school, your parents most likely will not be supportive and it will certainly be a challenge making it work with your significant other. The mother and father are not mature enough to handle this situation at that age. The show has a very genuine view of how difficult having a
