So what are the keys of learning that utilized to achieve the objective? As the world of work has become more complex, many workers need training to avoid losing their jobs or being passed over for promotion. There’s a lot of competition out there to get employment in today’s workplace but it’s extremely hard for people to get jobs due to not having a college education. Furthermore, there’s a great return when having a college education because of the income salary increases, career opportunities, retirement savings and healthcare are guaranteed than for someone who does have a college education then someone who doesn’t have a college education. I believe working adults are going back to school to attain a degree because they want to become successful, to avoid losing their jobs to someone who has a college education and staying in a position without any advancements due to the fact they’re not educated enough. Many employers are looking for college educated workers because they learn more tasks quickly, better problem solving, highly driven, motivated, excellent communication skills and able to meet deadlines in a timely manner then someone who doesn’t have a college education. Also, employers want to hire someone with a college degree because their more likely to have the right technical know-how for the job, written skills, oral communication skills, decision-making, and research and analytical skills. As far as some institutions they offer internship programs and employers depend on that during their hiring process. Nevertheless, some institutions feel as though those employers should provide on the job training and the institutions should just focus on educating their students with knowledge. With campus institutions they face overcrowded classes, library…

My main reason for going back to school is for better career choices and the chance for something better. Which is currently very limited in this area. Mainly some companies that don't pay very much. That's why I hope this degree will open on a new career or something much better. Maybe even one day own my own business or some kind independent business agent. I guess the idea being able work by myself is very desirable. Technology now affects every part of our lives from the time we get up to the time we go to bed, and even as we sleep. One of the major areas that has been affected by technology is education. At one time, the only option for students to complete their education was in a traditional classroom setting. There has become a major need for non-traditional education because there has been a growth in the amount of non-traditional students that exist in our society. The advancement of technology has recently allowed for education to be completed in an online setting instead of in a traditional classroom setting. Online education is an effective and comparable alternative to a traditional classroom setting, and it can be a great opportunity for a non-traditional student to further his or her education and become one step closer to being a successful, self-sufficient individual.…

In this case, I am no exception. I joined college to obtain a degree certificate. By obtaining this degree certificate, I am confident that my chances to land the job or profession I desire are high than if I do not have it. The high chances are because the degree certificate ascertains that I met all the requirements and threshold needed to qualify one for a particular field or profession. Therefore, the knowledge of how best I learn is invaluable in the pursuit of my career. This is because the knowledge reveals my strengths and weaknesses in matters that concern learning. Therefore, I am able to know where I need to adjust, increase efforts, or less concentrate on while…

My journey starts when I leave Puebla, Mexico eight years ago without knowing a single word in English to being a first generation college student in the United States. My family consists of my mother, two older sisters, my twin brother, and left behind my alcoholic, abusive father. I have been working in the hospitality industry ever since I arrived, from being a dishwasher to becoming front of the house supervisor. Initially without English knowledge or particular skills I had to settle into working in the lowest paid and grueling position in a restaurant, dishwasher. I was able to move up the ladder by taking night English as a Second Language class at City College of San Francisco and working up to ten hours a day every day. Every semester I took ESL classes, went hand in hand with promotions at work or better employment opportunities, to all the way to becoming supervisor of the restaurant. For this reason, I found in education an exit to poverty and a path to mind enrichment.. My proudest achievements are getting a GED, obtaining a high school diploma after completing the transitional studies program and now a 4.0 GPA in my first semester of credit classes, which I took to transfer to a four year university.…

In the speech that Dr. Dyson had spoken, he had made some very strong points about what people with education should do. He touched on everything you could think of that was important. He once said in his speech “You can throw up the hood but don’t let the hood rest on your shoulders.” Its many people out there that have a decent education, but still lack common sense and that would try to help their “friends” who didn’t go out and get an education. They will never forget where they stayed at but have more friends when they come back then they actually left with. Those are not real friends they are using them to get what they instead of going out and getting an education for themselves so they can be successful for themselves.…
