After the 13th Amendment was passed, African American slaves were freed from their lifetime involuntary servitude, and life for them seemed to be on the way to happiness (Document A). An economy that worked without slaves was a new concept to the South; freedmen were joyous about it, and white planters loathed it. The United States underwent a sort of revolution in its economy and its social hierarchy (Document D). After the Civil War ended, numerous changes had to be made to the South including rebuilding the infrastructure, maintaining hostility towards blacks, punishing or relieving Confederate leader, and determining the rights of newly freed slaves. In his letter King uses powerful literary tools that strongly match his views. He uses similes to help the audience understand not only the historical foundation of why segregation is immoral, but the awful emotional effects that segregation and discrimination has on the African American people who are experiencing it. King uses realistic imagery to give the reader an idea about how segregation harms a person’s character. My name is Ali Shaheed and I am writing to appeal my suspension from financial aid. I hope that you will reconsider your decision and grant my financial aid. I would like to begin thanking you in advance for taking the time to read this letter and consider my request to reinstate my financial aid at Henry Ford Community College. I take full responsibility for my unsatisfactory completion rate, but I would like to explain the circumstances. I started my first semester at HFCC in winter 2012, and I failed to attend my classes due to my mother being sick, and I had to rush her to the hospital every other day. I had to take care of her because I’m the only one she had. In a result I failed to make satisfactory academic progress due to me not attending classes.…

I am writing to express my keen interest in the position of assistant manager at Pandora Jewelry. The job description you have provided for this position is an ideal match with my skills and qualifications. My love for Pandora started when I got my first high school job at 17, where I was merchandising the store as well as selling. My integrity was displayed when I took on the responsibilities of being a key holder. My duties consisted of, opening and closing the store, dealing with the nightly deposits, and making sure everything is locked up safe and sound. After I graduated high school I decided to enroll at Austin Community College in Austin, TX. Once I started seeking employment the first place that came to mind was Pandora. I searched online to find out where the store was located and was shocked to see it that it was in a mall. When I approached the store I was a bit intimidated by its size. Keep in mind the store I had previously worked was less than half of its size! I walked in and was immediately greeted by the sweetest girl named Whitney. I told her I was out looking for a job and this was my first stop. I informed her about all of my experience and when I mentioned I worked on the visuals she stopped me and said, how perfect…that’s what I do and I will leaving soon. I filled an application out that day and got the job two weeks later. Since being employed at Barton Creek I have successfully met all goals while maintained great customer service. The store offers different incentives through out the year; one being if you maintained an ADS higher than $130.00 you got an iPad mini. I was the sole recipient to the iPad mini. One of my biggest assets is my ability to effectively communicate with management, other associates, and customers. With The 5 years of experience that I’ve gained through Pandora I am confident that I have what it takes to be an excellent Assistant Manager.…

    Appeal Letter

This letter is written in an attempt to appeal my academic probation and allow me to receive financial aid so I can continue my college education. During Module 3 and 4 my grades were poor. The cause is no less than my own fault, but I believe the circumstances I faced led my focus away from my education. In the beginning of 2012 I found out I was going to become a dad and that was a huge impact for my life so I had to get my self together and I knew going to school getting my degree would give me that opportunity to make my life and son life better but having to deal with my grandma suffered a heart attack and pasting away was an event that sent my world into a spiral, then also having to move to another state and not being stable enough to keep focus I was thrown off and this cause me to be in a depression mode. I continued school as best I could and helped my mother and take care of my grandma medical bills I took out additional loans for much more than was needed to pay for school. I was also out of a job and living off savings and credit cards, which was a huge mistake. Beginning towards the end of 2012 my bills began to pile up and I was getting behind. I managed to get a part-time job to help pay for bills and was still trying to go to school, but as the bills mounted part-time work wasn't enough to keep me afloat. I had to start working full time. I tried to continue my schoolwork as best as I can, but as time went on work took over my life and my education took a backseat. I didn't plan on this happening and I didn't want to withdrew from classes because school was the only thing I have at bettering my life and I constantly told myself I could maintain this , but it never worked for me. Now that I have stabilized myself a lot I have my own place full access to the internet in a very well comfortable environment I can guarantee improvement, I do not work at the moment I know I can be more responsible and take on a light,…

It all started in the college days of three best buddies: Farhan Qureshi, Raju Rastogi, and Rancchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad “Rancho” at the Imperial College of Engineering, India. Farhan, is one of the many college students who was forced to pursue his parent’s dream of becoming an engineer. Raju is a poor lad who strives hard to get good grades yet he still gets low marks. He hopes to land a good job someday for the sake of his family; while Rancho, the one who stands out among the crowd, studies engineering for his passion of machines and devices. However, due to his different approach in studying, Rancho incurs the wrath of the dean of college, Professor Viru “Virus” Shahastrabuddhe. Rancho criticizes his professor’s style of teaching for lacking enthusiasm and understanding in discussing their lessons; thus this leads to a series of conflicts. In contrast, Virus’s favorite student, Chatur “Silencer” Ramalingam, believes in memorizing over understanding in order to be a successful engineer. Chatur is the typical student who studies without passion.…
