The Indian muntjac or red muntjac is the most far-flung species of barking deer. They are active during night, yet in protested areas where they are not oppressed, these deer may become active by day.

The red muntjac is relegated as omnivores. Its diet includes prickly bushes, low growing leaves, barks, herbs, fruits, sprouts, seeds, bird eggs and small warmed- blooded animals.
Life span: The red muntjac lifespan is about 15 to 20 years.
Size and weight: The red muntjac size is about 45cm to 70 cm. Its weight is about 10 to 20 kg. Giant muntjac can weigh up to 60 kg.
