“In this world, there are three types of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.” Explain it and relate it with your own personal experience.
Statics is a science that deals with the collection of data analysed through statistical methods to come up with an interpretation that would eventually lead us to a conclusion. Statistics clearly takes a scientific process to have a reliable result for us to say that statics don’t lie, however, liars do use statistics. For example, a group in our class wants to prove that smoking relieves stress. They get a group of smokers who they know are smoking cigarettes to relieve their stress. They did some generic tests that are guaranteed to show up the specific data needed for the study and presto, 89% of the subjects’ stress was relived through smoking. Most people won’t bother with reading the article the whole way through and will just look at the headline then believe it. This works with anything. Most of the advertisements manipulate statistics for the viewers to buy their product. In their studies, they are using double blind wherein neither the researchers nor the participants know neither who’s in the experimental group nor who’s in the control group that would allow for a chance at being falsified by real life. So, statistics are not lies and statistics don’t lie. But it is the people who use statistics that lie on how it is interpreted for their own interest.

They are saying that Yaz can help in curing acne, lessening fatigue and etc. but Yaz is associated with increased
