The person I am choosing to write about would be my step father. I chose him because he is very
Wise and very physiological and can break things down into a visual aid that can help me see the
Things I am doing within my life. He has only been in my life since I was 9 and he has so much Knowledge and ways of explaining things in seems so unreal that he has not become a teacher
Some famous writer the way he is able to speak to people and myself. He can carry on a
Conversation with everyone. He analyzes and then generates an understanding with any one
Person he is speaking with. I believe what makes him wise is his life experiences and learning on
A daily basis and he brings that knowledge to the less fortunate. He and I have a lot in common in
That sense we love working with the less fortunate and bringing a ray of sunshine into their
World. I call him an old soul, which is funny because he also calls me the same thing. He says I
Have an understanding with people that most cannot even fathom. The attributes I believe I have
Developed is to maintain a good conversation with those in need, I have the heart for it and the
Life experiences to share along the way. He too writes poetry, like I we are connected in a way
Where I understand where he has been and the pain he has gone through, because in a sense I am The same way. I love how physiological he is he can turn any situation into a positive outlook on
Life with just, caring and understanding and the visual aids he uses are great. In the years to come
I believe my biggest task is to take constructive criticism and use it to my advantage. Instead of
Taking it personal which I have a real big problem doing. My step father on the other hand can
Take the same type of information and use it to not only broaden his intelligence but he also uses
It to help others who do not quite understand the simplest concepts. He has a lot of knowledge
Under his belt he knows about the Hanford reactors here in Washington he worked there for over
20 years, he was in the military for 20 plus years fought in several wars and has been through the
Depression era and the here and now. In a sense he is my guardian angel because if it was not for
Him believing in me with my high functioning autism I never would have made it this far.
What I would like to develop more is the understanding of things in more depth but be able to
Understand these things in a much broader aspect in different languages and cultures. He is very
Smart when it comes to things in that nature. If I had the knowledge and brain and the ability to
Think like him, I could do way more with my life. I hope in time in the future sometime down the
Road I will be able to grasp the concept of the physiological way of thinking. I love analytical
Thinking this is how I have been told I am. I have a real depth of knowledge but it is really hard
For me to express myself. My step father always tells me for someone so young I have a lot of
Knowledge. Most of it he says comes from my life experiences and I am able to take those
Experiences and make something out of my life. So because of his words of wisdom, here I am
Doing what I have always wanted to do. I have always wanted to work with those who cannot or
Do not know how to help themselves, I connect better with children and at risk teens. Like my
Father says “you can always shut the door, just do not lock it.” I never really knew what this
Meant until just recently. I always knew he meant something but did not realize what it meant
Until now.

He understands me in ways no one else does. Even when I act like a cry baby or a spoiled brat. He’s always making sure I’m happy. Whenever I’m having a bad day at work I will ask him can he come see me. Even when he is extremely tired from work he will still manage to come see me at my job just to make me smile. Though I’m hard to put up with sometimes Zach always manages to come to my rescue. When I got into my first car accident, I was afraid to call my mom because it was her car I was driving. Zach was the first person who I called. He rushed over to my location, and once he got there he made sure I was okay and nothing major happened. I love him so much for being part of my life and opening new chapters for me. To conclude, Roger Rosenblatt suggests in his essay that even in desperate, dark times, people feel compelled to his love ones how he feels in the last few moments of life . For me, writing to say my goodbyes, to show the good of what they have done for me, and my appreciation would allow me to let my grandma, Destiny, and Zach know that God placed them, in my life to be here for me. if it wasn’t for them sometimes I believe that I wouldn't be in this place in my life right…

Keith H. Basso’s Wisdom Sits in Places: Landscape and Language Among the Western Apache delivers a strong message regarding human connections between place, identity, and origins in relation to the idea of place-names. Every place evokes an association to a story and/or a person/ancestor bearing a moral message that allows the Western Apache to shape their beliefs, behaviors, identities, etc. It is through this connection to the land that the Apache begin to define their understanding of their lives.…
