listening to Stefanie talk she mentioned a lot about putting the patients’ needs first because, they are more important than following protocol sometimes. That being a Critical Nurse, no day is the same and it is a challenging job, which is why Stefanie really loves her job. Listening to Stefanie’s story and learning how she got to be where she is today was sad and very inspiring at the same time. It was really inspiring how passionate Stefanie is about her job. It was very heart wrenching listening to her have to go through such a sad experience, when she had lost a seven month old baby due to a genetic disorder. But it was inspiring to listen to because the loss of her child lead her to become a Critical Nurse. Stefanie’s passion for her career was portrayed when she puts her needs of her patients first. I also found it incredible that people who were past patients have gotten in contact with her and how she builds a trusting relationship with all of her patients. She truly cares for all of her patients and I really enjoyed her coming into our class to tell her emotional experiences and being completely honest. Overall, I thought Stefanie was the best speaker we had this semester. I enjoyed listening to her stories, the sad and the happy ones. I learned a lot from Stefanie and her story and experiences are really inspirational. If possible, I would definitely have her come back to the class for future semesters.
