Reflection On Active Day
I arrived at DH's house at 10AM to pick up her book for her doctor's appointments. DH had an eye exam at 10:30AM and a CT scan at 12:30PM. I picked DH up at Active Day at 10:05 AM and she was not content with having to leave. I had to inform DH she had a few doctors appointment and that she and I will go and eat at a restaurant of her choice. I was informed by Active Day staff that DH has been bringing too many bags and she is not able to carry the bags. I was informed the bus driver cannot help her carry the bags either. DH was not in a good mood due to not being able to eat. DH's Aunt brought her 3 long john donuts and a chocolate milk to Active Day. DH and I arrived early at the eye doctor's appointment. She was fine after a while but complained her jaw hurt. DH's eye exam went well she was very polite to the doctors. DH did not need glasses, her vision is fine. The only minor problem was she had mild cataracts on her eyes. DH and I went to the house after her eye doctors appointment to give DH her PRN medication for her jaw. At the house and even at the doctors office waiting for the CT, DH complained about her stomach hurting. DH and I went to The Springs for her CT scan. DH had to drink a similar drink to lemonade. DH informed me the liquid was nasty and she did not like it. She stated numerous times the drink does not taste like lemonade. DH was able to drink half and she refused the rest. DH did well for her CT scan. After the CT scan DH and I went to Arby's to eat since this is DH's favorite restaurant. DH practiced independent living skills by being able to gather her own napkins, straw, ketchup, and Arby's sauce. DH was able to pay for her own items but I had to order for her. DH and I ate and went to Bridges to drop off paper to the main office. DH and I went to Target to pick out a movie of her own choice. She selected The Hunger

    I have been working for a while in the Nursing Home and I have met patients with different situations. We have been dealing with more Nursing residents but getting to know with Dementia patients is very interesting. I have met Mrs. E which had been discharged from the hospital.     My client is a nineteen year old female who is of average height and weight. My client has a volunteer job, which consists of going shopping for elderly people who are or feel unable to leave the house to collect their own groceries or anything else they need for example my client will go to the house of a service user and collect a list they have compiled of what they need from the shop and my client will go and collect it.     How does one define a “tragic hero?” Aristotle illustrates such a character as an overall great person with very noble traits, but one who is not perfect. Many will look up to these tragic heroes; however each hero will have a specific flaw. This “tragic flaw” will ultimately lead to that character’s downfall. Also, these characters will often have the abilities to both recognize their tragic flaws in the end and also connect with the audience in some way. A classic example of a tragic hero that fits this description is Shakespeare’s character Othello in the play Othello. However, some say that the focus of the play is not the title character, and that Othello himself is too one-dimensional to be considered a true tragic hero. Critics also state that Othello’s unrealistic gullibility lessens the reader’s interest in the character’s suffering, thus removing any empathy. This, however, is not the case. This Venetian General shows a good majority of the typical characteristics of a tragic hero. The greatest tragic trait Othello possess comes from his flaws. While being an overall great person, Othello suffers from extreme gullibility and jealousy. These tragic flaws set Othello’s dreadful fate into play. The source of the majority of Othello’s sorrow comes from his immense gullibility and jealousy. Also, Othello relates to the audience through his actions in that he makes decisions that the average human can understand and sympathize with. Gullibility and jealousy are traits that many people possess, and both are easy to relate to. Though being a noble General, Othello makes mistakes that an ordinary person would commit, showing how human he can be. Ultimately, the General comes to the realization that such tragic flaws led to his downfall, and, while too late to change fate, understood and learned from the mistakes that were made.
