Reflection On Behavioral Change Consultants

The Behavioral Change consultants Nikki Cockern and Maurice Bulls from the Wayne State University and Behavioral Change Consultant workshop I attended was very important when serving the transgender community. The presentation was very informative and they conveyed good spirit about the motivational interviewing process. They discussed (Pace) Partnership, acceptance, compassion and evocation when interacting with a client living with HIV or transgender community. Highlighting the clients strengths and values on their skills goals or position they may have to achieved or a goal to achieve. Furthermost I feel the workshop explained that transgender people gender identify is different from the sex assigned at birth. When interviewing clients
a learn skill attending the motivational interviewing workshop that the sex is a biological status and gender refers to the roles behaviors and activity that society considers to appropriate for boys and men or girls and women. Moreover, the Gender identify skill learned was how a person basic inner sense of self as a man, a woman, neither or something else can be key term for a social worker to have knowledge and understanding in the transgender community when working with this population
