Reflection On The LIA Leadership Team
I’ve decided to run for the LIA leadership team because I have seen the impact that the leaders this year left behind and I aspire to do the same. Latinos in Action has taught me many things including on how to work well with others and that there isn’t a dead end for undocumented students, like myself, after high school. Every time I step in the Lia classroom I feel like I’m part of the community and that I belong. As a member of LIA I hope that I can get the chance to become a leader. A leader should possess initiative, honesty, commitment, and many other attributes. I have initiative because during Junior high I was not encouraged by my family or others to join groups but seeing the impact that LIA has, I decided that I wanted to make a

During the course of my high school career, I have developed a strong passion for the organization named the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). FCCLA is a Career and Technical Student Organization that focuses on building students into better leaders for their families, careers, and communities. Furthermore, FCCLA teaches students practical skills that will be useful throughout their lifetimes. This organization has become an important part of my life because it has shaped me into the leader I am today. I began in the organization as a member and participant in competitive events, I have now worked my way up to being my chapter’s President and the Missouri State First Vice President. My leadership experience in FCCLA, especially my experience as a member of the Missouri State…

    NJROTC Reflective Report

During high school, I committed most of my free time to my NJROTC unit and my 4-H club. In both of these organizations, community service, leadership, citizenship, and initiative are indispensable values that are essential to their functioning, and I like to think I have learned to embody these traits. In 4-H, I have attended, and then went on to teach, numerous leadership and group trainings. In NJROTC, I attended the Area 5 Leadership Academy, graduated as the Second Honor Cadet of the 2014 Academy, and was selected to be an Aide for the 2015 Academy. I held, or currently hold, leadership positions in both organizations and I feel I set a good example for my peers and subordinates. Through any task, I am enthusiastic about my job and…

    Team Leadership

In the beginning of the semester our Team Leadership class was presented with the task to help make an organization’s team more effective. We had the freedom to choose who our desired organization could be and to observe them. After much thought and consideration, we chose to observe the Association of Information Technology Professionals, more commonly known as AITP. Our goal for this semester was to observe the AITP group and evaluate our findings to help them become more effective as a team. We would present our findings in a workshop setting, which would in turn, help them see areas where they can improve on.…

If you are willing to persevere, you are certainly able to lead others through the road you've walked. Leaders help themselves and others to do the right things. They set direction and build an inspiring vision. Leadership is about mapping out where you need to go to "win" as a team; and it is dynamic, exciting, and inspiring. Through the academic program I was able to acquire leadership and become a role model for younger students. Most importantly I led others by being an example through my own victories. As a leader to others, you are able to make a big difference, and that difference affects the way they view their future and themselves. I learned to care for others and their needs, and I have seen the impact of the support I have given to them. I remember clearly that I used to struggle myself, as well; the feeling of never having someone there to inspire and encourage felt as if I had to venture into an unknown world. I knew for a fact that the Latino Scholars program was right for me. I wanted to lead others, motivate them to do their best, and most importantly give them a…

Being an undocumented student has lead me to the most amazing community of Dreamers! I can say without a doubt that many of my problems are because of my immigration status but today I understand that the most amazing gift I have been given is a tough life! It was that struggle that made me a leader because it made me love and fight, more importantly it gave me a purpose. A socially responsible leader is one who has a passion beyond herself. As a dreamer I have struggled and failed to many times to count but that to is a gift because now I have a story to share. A degree means more to me than a fancy car, it is knowledge, that will grant me power in the form of an echoing voice, to offer relief for the many lives that parallel my own. At this…

My name is Kaleigh Gonzales I’m a 15 year old sophomore and I’m running for the 2014-2015 officer position of reporter for Armwood High Schools FFA Chapter. I feel I should be selected for this position because not only am I a people person but I am also extremely organized. I think this would make me be able to effectively and efficiently get the Armwood FFA’s chapter name known to the public. I would also try to do this by doing any and all public service projects we can get our hands on, then publishing our successes. I believe that to make a difference you have to be known and respected by the community around you. In the past three years I have served as Vice President for Burnett Middle School for two terms and Treasurer for Armwood high school for one term. In this time I’ve competed many events including forestry, land judging, vet assisting, OCC, creed speaking, and extemporaneous public speaking. By doing this I’ve gained lots of experience and love in our great organization. I believe to be this year’s reporter I have to not only work on our clubs public media aspects but also work hard in competitions to win and better our chapters’ reputation. If I were to describe the technique in which I lead I would have to say that I plan , I tell others my plan , and then I depend on my team to help me. They tell me where they specialize in and what they want to do for me, and we work form there. I try to let people do what makes them happy while still helping me. I can make a personal promise that I will always work my hardest to make FFA my top priority, a position like this requires my full attention. My other activity I engage in is that I am a First sergeant of alpha company in JROTC, this means I am the second in command of one of three company’s in our schools only JROTC battalion. I promise that my responsibilities there will not interfere with my responsibilities regarding FFA. Some activities I want to do this year are competitions like OCC and…

Apart from the Toby Keith Foundation Teen Board and the Junior Rotarian Club, I have volunteered with various other organizations such as the Red Cross, Moore Food and Resource Center and the OCARTA Wellness Hub. I have chosen to dedicate my time to these community service activities because I know that a small effort can go a big way in changing other's lives. Along with community service activities, I have also dedicated my time within my Latino community. I have attended numerous leadership conferences aimed at Hispanic students, including the Hispanic Youth Leadership Conference at the Oklahoma City University and the TREE Conference at the University of Oklahoma. I was also selected to attend the Latinos Without Borders Fall Camp at the University of Oklahoma. Attending all of these events have changed my life, because I have learned how to fight the barriers that plague my community and culture. It is important to me to be involved within my cultural community because I believe in order for a community to prosper, its members have to become aware of the problems within their community and work to better…

My work in the Latino Caucus this year has been that which I have been proudest of in my time at Boston College because it has been the avenue by which I have been able to affect the most people. Students are often very active in their communities and yet I still feel that too many students remain complacent. Our voices matter and if I can convince even just a few people to speak out for what they believe in then it was worth the effort. Caucuses support legislation and candidates that embody their values and interests. Our caucus, made up of myself and two others from Northeastern, works to increase the education and involvement of Latino College Students by promoting participation in the political process. The caucus also vocalizes the issues…

As a new leader at Grand City University, evaluating the options was an exciting task. Innovative change leadership means seeking opportunities to explore change at the cultural level rather than looking at one event (Buller, 2015). The support of chancellors and faculty is helpful but the more support we can garner the better. Offering the responses that would create the most partnerships, finding the best way to improve for our good, and finding long-term solutions was my focus in this simulation.…

The sphere of influence is a concept that management uses to examine the strategic intent of the portfolio of a company and its implication to the strategy of competition (Hoskisson, Hitt, Wan & Yiu, 1999). Spheres of influence enhance manoeuvring competitors into a corner, reduce the price wars through mutually assured destruction and shape the industry to the mutual player’s advantage. The spheres of influence protect the cores of the companies, project their power outwards, weaken the rivals and prepare for the future moves. JM Marketing Business consultancy Company has the sphere of influence in the provision of alternative ways of ensuring comprehension in class. JM Marketing will therefore be a market leader hence any rival’s product sales and price will depend on JM Marketing decisions that will be a market leader.…
