Reflective Essay: Football Friday At Harmon Field
Before I realized that it's not nice to talk about people behind their backs, I had already done it. That’s when I learned that it hurts me as well as others. When people say you learn from your mistakes, it is true.
It was a football Friday at Harmon field and I was hanging out and talking to my friends. One of my friends, at the time, said something about another person that wasn’t there at the moment. The girl that we had been talking about had been causing problems throughout our group of friends recently. Two other people and I added on to the conversation by saying that she was a drama queen. When the person showed up, I suddenly regretted what I had said.
A little while later, the girl and one of her other friends, who happened to be the person who said something first, went to the concession stand. When they got back, they told everyone what I had said and didn’t say

She said that, when they were walking in the concession stands, she asked if anyone had talked bad about her before she got there and she said I did. I was really confused why she didn’t talk about the other girls that said something. I later found out that they were all spending the night with each other and she didn’t want to start drama between them.
I went to tell my mom about what had happened. She told me to go talk to her and tell her exactly what I said, but to not say anything about the other people saying anything because I wouldn’t want other people to snitch on me and she may not believe that it’s true. When I tried to go talk to her, she kept running away. The people around her were trying to hide her and make it a bigger deal than it really was.
I didn’t want it to seem like I was chasing them around so I went and hung out with my other friends for a while. I knew before the game was over that I was going to apologize and everything would be ok between

Quite possibly the most significant time of my life was during my senior year as part of the Edison High School football team. The story of our 2006 season is a reflection of my life and testimony to my beliefs and values. Underdogs from day one, we represented not only our school, but also our community and families. Early expectations of the 2006 Eagles were low and the surrounding community was under the belief that Edison would be lucky to go 6-4 with the inexperienced players and the loss of such a talented senior class. Suddenly, I was starting as the outside linebacker/defensive end for the first time in my career along with 18 brand new starters. Unexpectedly, a green group of replacements were 5-0, half-way through our season. After…

and Kaleigh got to the track there was a girl from our school there that Kaleigh and I weren't very fond of owing to the fact of what type of girl she was. The girl's name was Sydney a mean arrogant girl that wasn't very nice to many people. Sydney was surrounded by all of her friends and as we walked by they all started snickering which right then we knew that Sydney and her friends were non verbally making fun of us in a very childish way. Sydney was the leader in the friend group the sort of identity she made of herself. Her friends were super nice girls but when they were around her not so much at all. Me and Kaleigh never said anything maybe to not cause drama or we gave her the implied permission to be like that because we never stood…

When I think about now I was really harsh on her I don’t know why exactly I did that, but I guess my anger took over my emotions. It was even more awkward when we were at the hotel, whenever she said something I really wanted to talk back, but I just couldn’t at all. The feeling knowing she is leaving and never coming back hurt me a lot, but she never saw it, because my anger was covering what I really felt inside.…

After school that day Ciara and I sat down and did our homework. We studied for our English test that we would be having to take in a couple of days and browse on Facebook. Ciara was the type to always start arguments with someone and half of the time don’t admit when she’s wrong. While on Facebook Ciara put up the meanest status about a girl name Jakayla Ross at our school that’s in our 3rd period class. When I saw her status I asked, “Ciara, why did you just say that Jakayla was dumb as a sack of rocks?” Ciara then looked at me and said “Brekaa, I don’t know why you are tripping you know Jakayla can’t read that’s why she always stutter when the teacher call her name to read then lie and say she have a sore throat.” After the back and forth conversation Ciara and I had about the status I asked her to leave, because I didn’t want to take part in what was just happening here. Ciara slam my front door and storm off down the road to her house.…

We were walking through the hallway filled with students, shoulder to shoulder, trying to get through to their next class. I had a very hard time concentrating on the discussion I was having with my friend. Everyone around us was loud, locker doors were opening and closing, students would play music from their headphones, and teachers would constantly scold some students and keep on watch as we walked. So I ended up not really saying much, but just putting my input whenever I could and nodded my head. My head was down and at some point, I realized Dominique had stopped talking to me and was just staring at me. I looked back and gave her a ‘what’ face and then she asked me if I heard anything she said and I nodded my head no and said: “Sorry, I didn’t quite catch all of that”. I would then relay what I heard and she would fill me in the parts I missed, and by that time the crowd of students had dispersed into a few and I was able to hear the rest of the conversation. Soon we split to our respected class and I was by myself walking to…

So we decide to watch a neutral movie that we all agreed on. I don’t recall what it was, but I guess it was horrible since I don’t recall what it was. On the way to the ticket booth I went back to reach for my wallet when I reach back there’s nothing and I’m like “Crap”. Danielle says to me “what wrong” and “I’m thinking to myself” “what should I…

During resource period, I met up with my friends and we went to the library, our usual hangout. While we were doing our usual rounds of discussing Pokémon and debating on which Star Trek captain was superior (It’s Kirk), the girl I liked walked in. My friends, being the exceptionally mood killing beasts they are, pushed me towards her. I bumped into her and made her drop her books on the floor. I hurriedly picked them up for her and apologized. She laughed it off. We somehow got into a conversation about…
