Reflective Essay On Disability Experience

Disability experience and reflective journal:

We are assigned to do this assignment by Dr.Shaima yasin. At the beginning we were taught about the instructions on how to do this assignment. We are going to use Gibbs reflective cycle to show our disability experience and reflective journal that we had in the campus. In the beginning of this experiment, we went to get the wheelchair that we are going to use. we took ourselves on a tour around the campus, we started from the classrooms in our faculty going on to the library and then to the cafeteria and to the computer lab, we also went to the nursing faculty. After that we went to the student services and the metro station.

The first time we sat on the wheelchair we felt hopeless, in despair And the fact of being disabled and having a limited function is heartbreaking .After visiting
Moving on to the bathrooms in the building we had a big trouble getting into it because of the space of the door was too narrow for the wheelchair to pass and that the bathroom for the disabled people were locked and out of service, unlike the prayer room it has a wide space for the wheelchair to enter, also the ablution place is suitable for the wheelchair to reach. On our way to the student services, there was a construction site that made it difficult for wheeling the chair and there were lights above the ground which were like bumps which disturbed the movement of the wheelchair. The cafeteria has reachable counters to buy food and drinks , also the tables were at a proper height. There are elevators everywhere, but sometimes it is out of service so we cannot reach the first and second floor. We ended our tour at the
