Further more, I learned I have to alter my perception of the value of reflective practice, only by doing this can I gain the full benefits of the practice. Another technique I can incorporate into my reflective practice is to seek feedback from colleagues (Preceptors and FA). By asking for and receiving feed back from my colleagues it will help me identify what I am doing well and areas that I need to improve upon.
My intention with these small and informal reflective activities is to become more comfortable with the process. The outcome I hope to obtain is that I will be able to practice reflection more efficiently, which will result in a higher quality reflective practice. In my future practice as post-graduate nurse I will have to demonstrate my abilities to incorporate reflection into my nursing practice to the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). I recognize that I will never get away from reflective journals, as they will play a critical role in my professional nursing practice, and I need to take steps to refine and improve on my reflection
