John Hutton a Politian (2010) once said “For too long nurses have been undervalued, restricted in what they could do, with too few career opportunities in clinical practice. For far too long, nurses have endured a pay system that has held them back – both professionally as well as financially”, the two acts came after this was said. Having good ethics and attitude towards the Healthcare system will have a better result in the care field and how it is positive point and can also become a negative. Also how this will affect people and how the Healthcare Services and Practice has changed for the better and will continue to change.

UK but the Health and Social Care Act 2012 is important for the NHS and the new reformed structure of the funding. In the past NHS has had trouble with funding and this new reformed act would introduce new boards and sectors that will be able to fund better and save money for the NHS.
The Department of Health state (2012) “Improve quality and choice of care for patients, and increase transparency for taxpayers”. This means it would improve the quality of service provided and have more options for the patients regarding their health; this act is to promote and protect patients.
Current legislation and policy guidelines demonstrates 6 key factors which are: encouraging and securing patient’s interest be a clear focus, a good system which is suitable for all types of provider, a planned framework that is underpinned by secondary legislation, the secretary of state keeps all accountability and powers to become involved when necessary, sorting out existing regular structure and to reduce repetition and the care quality commission, NHS Commissioning Board and Monitor are working together.
In 2013 the government wanted the elderly and people with a disability not worry about their cost of care given and this will take place 2017 after the 2015 election.
Discrimination Act (1995), the Race Relations Act (1976) and the Sex Discrimination Act (1975), now all these acts will come under the equality act 2010.
Britain has become a much fairer and equal place to live, this act shows that Health Care Providers which are school, hospitals, councils and government department, there are 2 new duties since the Equality Act came out. This act is to ensure people are treated equally. For the elderly the Equality will keep up what is good for people different ages e.g. free bus pass and injections, the elderly getting the same care in hospitals and in other care settings as the younger people. These are the many things that are happening in the act today.
Stated by Tom Heiler (2001), “If health care is provided in such a way that expenditure on each individual is equal, then no recognition is given of the differences in the level of needs across society”. This demonstrates that financially if everyone was treated equally, regards to health care then there would be no discrimination across the society.
(Dewey, 1933) “Transform a situation in which there is obscurity, doubt, conflict and disturbance of some sort into a situation that is clear, coherent, settled and harmonious.”Reflective practice for health professions is important because this is a great chance for them to reflect on their bad points and develop them.
Reflective practice encourages health care professions to learn continually from their previous mistakes and deliver and improve their standards of care given to patients. Reflection is a good technique to use as it holds information and is a good way of gaining knowledge in the areas you need to work at. This may affect a person’s self-esteem and because of the negative feedback but in Healthcare there will be negative points as to positive. Schon (1983) said “The capacity to reflect on an action so as to engage in a process of continuous learning”, this is an important saying as it is a good example on how they learnt from their experience and performed …show more content…
better.
Jane Cummins, CNO 6 ‘C’s of Nursing (2012) “A healthcare system that provides for basic human needs with care and compassion, when it matters most and in the most appropri-ate place” For these two acts to be successful properly the healthcare professionals need to practice the 6 C’s in their work day in-day out, the values are Care, Compassion, Courage, Competence, Communication and Commitment.
Roisin Devlin (2012) said once “I didn’t choose my career for the money.
I chose it simply because I wanted to care for people. And I don’t think I care any less now than I did when I was a junior nurse”...Comparing care and values share the same effects in a care environment, values indicate respecting health patients and staff values whether it’s something you do not agree with. It should show a caring and nurturing side even in difficult situations. Contrasting care and values, values are moral principles that guide individuals on how to behave in a certain way. Whereas care is a personal skill that must be held when working in a care
environment.
Comparing care and attitude expresses the same outcome, and care comes straight in to attitude as it holds a natural skill in a health profession. Contrasting care and attitude can also have different effects in difficult situations because the way we feel and react to certain conditions demonstrates through the way we care for a patient.
Jane Cummings Chief Nursing Officer England (2013) has said “There is a wealth of good practice, of committed staff working hard to drive up standards and to provide the evidence of that improvement” Comparing commitment and skills have similar effects because commitment for a patient is seen as a skill that any health profession must hold in a care environment. Contrasting commitment and skills, showing commitment should show physically and mentally, but skills comes in different forms that shows off what a health profession can do.
Commitment and knowledge comes in a different concepts because knowledge is a mental skill that a health profession has, it is there is help understand the holistic side to the health care organisation whereas commitment is a mental side to a health profession that comes naturally when caring for a patient.
In conclusion the policies and laws in the country for the health care system are working and with reflective practice we can only learn and go further from the mistakes, having good values, attitude and skill will make these two acts successful and have better health care system in the UK.
