Description
Mental illness is a condition which causes serious disorder in a person's behaviour or thinking. Our community have negative stigma with people who are treated as psychiatric patient. I am also have negative stigma with people who are treated as psychiatric patient and I never be close with them. This semester, I had opportunity to visit at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Perak for one day on 20 March 2014. The questions '' what differentiates the practice of psychiatric nurses in Hospital Bahagia and in the hospital setting'' and ''what differentiates patient treated in Hospital Bahagia and patient treated in ward'' was high on my agenda of questions to explore. As this is my first time went to the Hospital Bahagia which is known as a place for crazy,mental problem and psycho person, I was really excited. When I arrived there, the place was really big and beautiful. I was wonder either this is a campus or mental's hospital. I can saw a lots of guards with brown uniform anywhere. Some of them ride motorcycle and some of them walked in and outside the ward. There are a guards for each entrance doors. A lots of nurses with white uniform walked everywhere and sometimes I can heard people yelling and crying. At the beginning of the session, we are given talk about the history of the place by one of the sister there. I was totally shocked when I heard the staff there are more than 10 000 and the hospital's area was really big. The hospital already exist 100 years back. I am sure this
