There are a lot of programs in prison that can help inmates get their life on the right path but isn’t it too late by then? It is difficult for people to find a decent occupation, imagine how much harder it will be for people with a record. If that money was used on a program for children that can tutor children and lead them to the right path, I believe it will help significantly. The younger we start the correction process the better. The older the person is the more set in their ways they are. It is difficult to get inmates to participate in the programs that are currently in prisons. They usually attend classes because they are parole mandated or mandated so they can visit with their children. If they don't truly want to change, the classes will not make a difference. also , the older they are the harder to develop new skills. I have seen inmates change while at the prison and parole out but quickly come back. They leave prison attempting to make a better life but it gets difficult at times and they turn to the easiest thing they know. The majority of the time it is the same thing that brought them to prison in the first place. I believe, a program that is well funded can make a major impact on children and they could have a fair
