Stem cells are cells that have no definite genetic makeup or characteristics. Think of them as clay, and the cell they are trying to become is the finished product. Sang Hun Shin explains “Stem cells are like the building blocks of the body. They are unspecialized cells; however, not only do they have the potential to any of the 220 different cells.”(Sang Hun Shin, 1) This talks about the advanced differentiation these stem cells can portray on a cellular level.
