Current Events in Business Research In today’s society, the research process is critical to the success of a business or corporation. Companies are able to utilize the research process to help improve their business performance and the series of actions used to accomplish tasks or resolve problems. Business managers implement the research process when there is a gap in a systematic series of actions (Cooper & Schindler, 2011). The process is used when certain predicaments or dilemmas arise in business operations. Once the problem is identified, a group of skilled individuals are assigned to work together to examine the problem, create betterment or replacement (Cooper & Schindler, 2011). This paper will discuss the business research process from my personal experience in the workplace.
Workplace Experience
The most current work industry experience is working as the office manager for a family business of carpet cleaners specializing in non-allergic products. Over the past five years there have been several fields of opportunity and participation to achieve excellence in business. The company recently had the dilemma of customer service to come into being. Their way of retaining customers had become an out-of-date approach. The simplistic use of mailers, telephone reminders or voice messages no longer met the clients’ needs. A team was formed to collect data of changes within the carpet cleaning industry, analyze competition, examine in-house deficiency, survey inquiries about service and product needs of existing clients, as well as to potential customers. The reports and specialists supplied credible information, which disclosed potential growth in customer retention and profits.
