Introduction of the study Terrorism refers to an organized and systematic use of terror aiming to produce coercion or terror that is influenced by organized groups against civilians, and institutions. In connection with the background statements of this paper, the study shows that terrorism is an extreme undesirable event for the reason that the main objective of the activity will be to produce injury and damage that causes significant amount of injuries. Homeland security is one of the most appropriate responses that will lessen the amount of coercion and violence produced by terrorist and extremist groups to protect the nation from killings, injury, and violence made by dangerous extremists. Homeland security defense has been created following the 9/11 bombings that killed thousands of civilians across the US. As a review of the study, the effects of homeland security improves the welfare of the society as observed from yielding terror attacks such as preventing suicide bombing that can take place in our local communities. In this manner, homelands security reviews the presence of terror threats negatively affects the image of the targeted community for scaring away visitors from other communities as well as discouraging local and foreign investors to establish trade and commercial activities. According to Tamilton (2009), public awareness usually thought that terrorism is only made up of extremist or separatist individuals or group of individuals but there are forms of terrorisms that are non-violent for the reason that this kind of activity depends upon the reason behind the aggression of criminal offenders in the society.
