and be destroyed. If Batman were to leave his car unattended, it activated a shield mode. In shield mode, if someone tried to tamper with it, the shield mode would stop the person and the car alarm would sound.
The animated Batmobile vaguely resembles the one from the Tim Burton movies, although it’s simpler and removed of any of the weirdness (Hamlen). The same year that the second Batman movie was released, a new television series began. Batman: The Animated Series followed the "Dark Knight" style of Batman, with gothic scenery, dramatic plots, and dark characters. This car was last used in 1995 because the show had stopped airing then. It had appeared once more in 1997 when the revised show came out, The New Batman Adventures. It had a few upgrades to it like two doors now instead of just having the windshield lift upwards to get in and out of the car. With the jet thrusters, they were a pair of long thin slits on the rear bumper. This time, the show, The New Batman Adventures, was cancelled in 1999 but the car was still used in comic books and the Justice League series. This car was shown, but not used, in the first episode to Batman Beyond. It was placed in the Batcave but never used. This Batmobile had its final appearance in the Batman handbook
(Hamlen). The Rave Rover is the next Batmobile that was created. In 1995, Barbara Ling created the Rave Rover. It was in the movie, Batman Forever. Ling wanted the car to stand out more so she made the car to look like it had ribs on the side of the car and wings. Within the car, there was a blue light near the engine panels, wheels, and undercarriage. In the car, there was a rear-view monitor, system diagnostics display, and a custom gauge cluster (Hamlen). If Batman were to be followed, he would have two primary features that would lose the followers. The Batmobile had the ability to lock all four wheels perpendicular to its centerline, for a quick sideways movement. The other gadget is that the Batmobile could reroute the jet exhaust to under its front end and launch grappling cables at overhead anchors. The car could climb sheer vertical surfaces like a building wall because it could be driven on as if it was a road. This car survived a little while because it was destroyed partway through Batman Forever. The Riddler deposited a sack full of explosives in the cockpit. This car does not have a shield feature like past Batmobiles. This car is more popular to most people because it looks stylish compared to the others. It has wings at the top of the car and has the Batman logo for the rims on the wheels. This car is more of a bat look. The “ribs” of the car had holes in it so the audience can see the light inside of it. The wheels also glow the blue color.
