Research Paper On Chivalry

You have heard the term, “Chivalry is dead” and you could never really

understood how it was supposed to be interpreted. What is Chivalry you may

ask? Well Chivalry was morals that taught honor, courage, respect for women,

and fear of God to name some points. Chivalry’s roots stretch way back to the

9th and 10th centuries, the system of Chivalry flourished most vigorously in the

12th and 13th centuries before deteriorating at the end of the Middle Ages.

Unfortunately, Chivalry is close to dead in the 21st century. Back then, knights

were on their quests to be everything a man strived to be. Chivalry was a

mixture of Christian and military ideals that Knights honored. Now a days, the

only mixture of ideals
that males honor are pants below their butt and shoes that

match their hat.
If the code had to be recreated for our generation, I believe it

would go a little something like this…

The female gender wouldn’t know what the definition of “heartbreak”

meant, because all guys and/or men would treat their women like queens. Men

would cater completely to women, faithfully doting on their every move. Being

chivalrist simply means being honest. In both sexes. Men and women must

never lie to each other. If either one lies, the other person gets to tie a cleat to a

bat, and beat the other person with it until they are satisfied! J Women must

also never pay for anything, ever. Women don’t have to work, unless they want

to. Otherwise, the male is the provider. If the male chooses not to provide, then

he will be sent to prison for life, and have to live in a 6x6 cell with a cold toilet

seat. That’s not comfortable, and there are NO second chances.

Another act of chivalry In our generation would have to be loyalty.

Women can’t cheat on men, and Men can’t follow their nature, (which is to cheat

on women). If either sex chooses to disobeys the rules, the rule breaker must

sing a Hannah Montana song dressed in their underwear. In front of their
entire

work establishment or school. So I highly suggest that no one should cheat on

anyone. The definition of Chivalry is basically men defending what they think is

important, so OBVIOUSLY that has died out. Chivalry Is still followed today, even

though most of us don’t know it. Believe it or not, “The Golden Rule” is a

representative of the code. Treat other people the way you want to be treated.

Granted, it’s not exactly the sister of Chivalry, but more like a grandchild. It’s

been passed down since the 12th and 13th centuries, still being used in the 21st

century today. Even though we don’t follow it like the knights followed it, we get

a general sense of what the knights were set out to achieve.

Some guys are lucky enough to know how to treat a girl, whether that be

opening a door for her, bring her flowers, being sentimental and just sweet! But

unfortunately, not everyone knows how to do this, or even likes to. Chivalry isn’t

dead, but it’s pretty well wounded. And everyday, there are people our there,

almost like secret doctors and nurses who are attempting to repair the wounds J
