Within Ecuador, they have the power to make and pass laws for their country. They declared independence from Spain in 1822. A guy named Simon Bolivar was the first person to raise his voice against the Spanish rule. He wanted independence for the country. Simon led the people of Ecuador to the battle of Boyaca. After fighting against the Spanish Guayaquil, the port city, Ecuador claimed its independence. The news spread around really quickly. Soon, the other countries started to rebel against the Spanish too.
Economy
Ecuador is a developing economy dependent on commodities.
In 1999 a 2000, Ecuador was bankrupt with GDP by only only 5.3% and poverty increasing by a lot. After the Congress' approval, Ecuador's president started to adopt US dollars to use in Ecuador. Ecuador gets $180.2 billion Per Capita in total. They get $11,244 Per Capita. They get 59.6% of their money from GDP Composition, 34.4% from the industry, and Agriculture. Their main exports are crude petroleum, bananas, and crustaceans. They make 527,200bbl/day. They also have China give them money while they sell them oil. They borrowed seven billion dollars from them. Then they started to rely on China giving them money too much. So they just sold some of their rainforests to o China. They do this because they don't sell much from the products that they sell. I think in the future, Ecuador's government will shutdown because of all the problems in the economy they
have.
