Malala Yousafzai
Malala is a woman who was born in Mingora, Pakistan. She was born on July 12th, 1997. She grew up in the town that she was born in. She went to a school set up by her father, an anti-Taliban activist, so that men and women could study the same subjects. This meant that she was a supporter for Women’s rights/education. This was considered against the law and punishable by death. When she was coming back from school, on a school bus, a person from the Taliban came onto the bus. He announced to all of the passengers that he was looking for a girl by the name of Malala. Malala doesn’t remember anything that happened beyond this point but her friends told the rest of the story. Her location …show more content…
was given away by her friends when they all looked at her when he said her name. He immediately took out a gun and fired a bullet into her left forehead. Her friends were only injured in the attack.
She was then sent out of the country.
On the way out she had to get the bullet out of her head. She was sent to the Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There she had to get part of her skull removed. This was because her brain was had swollen by the bullet. She is now living Birmingham, England and going to a high school with a bunch of her new friends. Yet the Taliban is still thinking of her as a threat to this day.
The challenges that Malala faced was the Taliban. The Taliban is an anti-feminist group. This means a lot of things that women can’t do. This includes going to school and resisting/ telling everyone that it should be allowed. She made a speech against the Taliban for the Women’s Rights to Education. As said before this was considered a death sentence.
She contributed to the world in many ways. One way that she contributed to the world was with Women’s Rights to Education. This is contributing for the greater good by helping women in countries that don’t allow women to go to school, to let them be able to goto school. This will allow everyone to be able to learn at their own will. Everyone has a right to learn and you shouldn’t take that away from them. As Malala said, “One teacher, one book, and one pencil, can change the …show more content…
world.”
She also contributed to the greater community by leading large amounts of people to support the downfall of child marriage. This is because if children get married they will not be able to go to to school. This makes about 12.5% of women today illiterate.
Her political ideals on the world today has had a huge impact.
Her ideals was that the Taliban should be no more. She showed what the Taliban does to people for standing up for what they believe in. This led everyone to know what the Taliban is actually standing for. They are standing against the women in all countries and trying to make so that there is Child Marriage. Her ideals are the complete opposite of the Taliban, she is for women’s rights.
Malala’s impact on culture and economics was a big change. She is getting people to stop discrimination against women. This is making more people get jobs to allow women to which is an economy change. For culture in their community women are usually not able to do much. What Malala is showing everyone is that they mean more than they think. She has made more people believe in themselves because she is the youngest person in history to get a Nobel Peace Prize. This means that you can do good no matter what your age.
Overall Malala was a great person. She was standing against one leader in particular for them to stop what they were doing. One of the leaders of the Taliban, Noorullah Noori. Noorullah and Malala both came from the same place but are different in nature. One of the Taliban’s soldiers said that Noorullah wanted to go to Afghanistan just to kill Americans. While Malala wants to save people’s lives and education. One day she might save everyone’s education and life one
day.
