“There's nothing wrong with procrastination. Or is there? I'll leave it to you to decide, but only if you have the time.”- Craig Brown. Procrastinating plays a role in someone’s life. It is something that we all as humans try to overcome, but in reality, it is something that will impact us in some way, at any cost. Procrastination is a habit of putting off a task until a later time what could or should have been done at that time. It’s a tormenting weakness I’m struggling with and it’s keeping me back from being successful. It’s like an virus eating up my body infecting various parts of my life.
Procrastination is a horrible habit to have because it clearly knocks down the chances of even a hero being successful. If a hero was to procrastinate, the people, who the hero is supposed to protect, would be in danger. Such as what if there was a villain robbing a bank and was holding innocent people hostage and the hero was to say “Well, I’ll just take

Most of the time procrastination isn’t always a bad thing. It could be good if you use your time wisely and think of good ideas. But on the other hand, it could be bad because, if you just sit around and do absolutely nothing. If you manage your time carefully, you would get done a lot faster and easier. As said in sentence 8, “Dr. Perry generously acknowledges that he has stood on the shoulders of iants, in particular Robert Benchley , the Algonquin Round Table Member. In 1930, Benchley revealed how he mustered the willpower to pore through scientific magazines and build a bookshelf when an article was due.”…

As citied by Frank Partnoy “some scientists have argued that there are two kinds of procrastination: active procrastination and passive procrastination”, the author used this evidence to convince the audience without mentioning who are they those scientists. This an unreliable evidence that makes the author’s words not trustable. This evidence is true but weak, refers to Frank S. Martini Jr. words who stated in his research titled by “The influence of active procrastination and passive procrastination”, earlier research proves that to benefit from the positive effect of procrastination, it found that there’re two kinds of procrastination: active and passive. This is a strong evidence for the previous statement stated by Partnoy. Additionally, another weak evidence mentioned in the article claimed by Paul Graham “the most impressive people I know are all terrible procrastinators”, it’s a weak source as he didn’t state the credibility of the author and this called as lack of reference. As said by Megan McCardle in the article “Why Writers Are the Worst Procrastinators”, loads of people delays, but when it comes to writers it’s rare. This evidence proves that not all the inspiring people…

Procrastination has more and more become a matter of interest across multiple disciplines (Ainsle, 2005); reaching from finance, as people put off their tax returns, or dealing with money troubles (Kasper, 2004), to medicine, where people postpone seeing their doctors (Siriois, 2007). Lingering concerns and allowing them to accumulate over time, is believed to be on the rise (Kachgal et al., 2001) as the failure of other self-regulatory behaviours increased over the past 25 years (Griffith & Parke, 2002). Procrastination also emerges to be a distressing phenomenon with over 95 per cent of people wanting to minimise it (O’Brien, 2002) and generally characterising it as bad, regretful, damaging and idiotic (Briody, 1980). Consistent with this perspective, procrastinators have been found to perform more poorly overall (Steel, Brothen, & Wambach, 2001) and to be more despondent in their well-being, long-term (Tice & Baumeister, 1997).…

I am here today, however, to convince you that this is not necessarily a negative thing. In fact, procrastination is a very common habit among students and people in general, and, for those people who do procrastinate; it often has some positive effects.I believe that procrastination has, unfortunately, developed a bad rep.over the years. Too often is it associated with stereotypical slackers, who are too lazy to do the work before the last minute. This of course is not true and I am personally offended by this association because I am not a slacker. Those people who do procrastinate have just chosen to go about life in a different method that is more convenient for them. Rather than planning out their lives, these people live in a day-by-day, short-term situation, and this makes them happy. As far as I'm concerned putting off things you can do today until tomorrow isn't a bad thing. One must consider that maybe I'm just pacing myself, making sure I don't take on too much, giving my life a chance to catch its breath. When viewed…

I consistently practice procrastination in any and all areas of my life. Procrastination is the tendency to repeatedly postpone a certain intended course of action, to the point of failing to accomplish this task within a desired time frame (Milgram, 1991; Senecal, 1995). I have never quite been able to manage the concept of doing what you have to do before doing what you want to do. I have to learn to prioritize by looking at the bigger picture of what I want to accomplish as opposed to the smaller picture of what I want to be doing right now.…
