RACISM ESSAY
Dr Martin luther King Jr. once said, “ I have a dream that one day we can join each other at the table of brotherhood and drink from the cup of justice”. This means together we can stop racism and rejoin as brothers and sisters.
Racism by color is the belief that some races are superior to others and therefore felt they have the right to dominate them. This particularly happens in the united states by wights against blacks causing racial tension in american society. To believe that race determines one’s human traits is being racist. Each group weather black,white,spanish, hawaiian, all have stories in their own communities of discrimination. Gender discrimination in society exists when a person's sex defines the roles he or she should play. Women are not treated equal as men.Throughout history women have faced discrimination from a lack of legal rights, very little independance, having inferior brains, and at times viewed as less than fully human in society. Woman have made great strides throughout the years beginning in the 19th century. America has come a long way however, woman will always be different from men. The equal rights amendments states “men and women shall have equal rights and throughout the united states and every place subject to their jurisdiction”. The equal pay act promises equal pay salary. for the same work, regardless of the race, color,religion,national origin or sex of the worker.Before the civil rights act was passed in 1964 an employer could reject a job a client do to their race,sex,and religion . other ways a person can be discriminated against is because of their religion. And in the year 2017 congress has 104 female house members and 21 female senators. This shows how far women had come in today's societies.
