Ever wondered what it was like to be on the Titanic while it was sinking? How did it feel and what happened? There were many survivors and many non survivors. It was a tragic event in our history that most people remember. It was not fun or enjoyable, it was terrifying for most. As for one, a woman cries,” Oh, save me, save me!” Then a man answers, “ Good lady, save yourself. Only God can save you now.” People were even leaping out into the frigid waters. “Iceberg! Right ahead!” An officer heard, but decided to ignore it. The ship just struck an iceberg. In ten seconds, the iceberg had ripped a three-hundred foot slash into the bottom of the great, unsinkable Titanic. Everyone became aware of this and starts rushing towards the lifeboats. The family had originally planned to cross on another steamer, but the coal strike changed their plans and they were transferred to the Titanic. They boarded the Titanic in Southampton on April 10, 1912 as third class passengers. The reason for Master Harold Victor Goodwin not surviving the Titanic was because he and his family were immigrants and also third class passengers in the lower part of the boat. His family, and many other families, were locked and trapped down there to die because people did not think that the immigrants and third class was worth saving even though the lifeboats could hold more people then they let
