II. Soviet Union Body Paragraph
A. Lee Harvey Oswald went to the Soviet Union during a time of terrorism between the Soviet Union and the United States also known as “The Cold War”.
B. Lee Harvey Oswald arrived in the Soviet Union in 1959
C. Oswald loved the Soviet Union so much that he wanted to apply for citizenship. He went to the U.S Embassy in Moscow to declare that he was surrendering his American citizenship.
D. Oswald stated in a letter to his brother less than six weeks after his arrival to the Soviet Union “These people are a good, warm, alive people…” (Savodnik, 38)
E. “In Russia, Oswald attempted to become a Soviet citizen, and he was interviewed by KGB agents before his visa expired and he was told to leave Moscow.
