Resurrection Events From 1900 To 1860
The Resurrection

The resurrection is an event that occurred in the 1900’s all over the united states but mainly occurred in the southern part of the country. The resurrection is when they ended slavery and needed to build the country again to becoming successful and the way that is supposed to be the land of the free. The resurrection was made into a big thing because of the events that occurred with this situation was going on. The resurrection events that made this so big is when the senator was killed by the kkk also when the kkk threatened Abram Colby. The other things as well is when everyone lost faith in their own president which was Grant because he did not know what to do with the african american people and the last one is the

. There were many problems with grant because he believed in many things that were his own and had been in many situations that he should never be in like tax frauds and other things and the people lost trust for him and the north went against hi and didn't trust the resurrection. So they went against him and did not trust the process so therefore they went against him and everything began into big corruption. So that brings me to my last event which is when the northern blacks were well educated and knew what they were voting for. The reason why it became a big ruckus is because the southern blacks were not educated at all they did not even know how to read nor write. So they lost interest in the reconstruction as well because they could not all vote if they did not know how to or who to vote for. So they just voted for the better and hope that the greatest comes out of the reconstruction. So now the south and north were both getting to each other's conditions and adapt with the large of amount of blacks there were that were not all well educated and did not know what to do with them. The reason for that is because they could not do anything because they were slaves there whole life and were treated poorly. So back to the events all of them occurred for a certain purpose or reason ad that is because they all

The North and South in the nineteenth century were different in lifestyle and morale as well as economy. The north had a booming industrial economy while in the South, cotton was king. Because of this, congress was continuously addressing controversial matters and providing answers that did not satisfy either one side or both. The early 1800s were full of the North and the South making many attempts at reconciliation that just fell short. Among those were the Missouri Compromise of 1820, and the Great Compromise of 1850. Other tempestuous attempts led to the Tariff/Nullification Controversy, anti slavery debates in congress, and the Kansas-Nebraska Act. Whether it was one side or the other, there was always someone to oppose - and in some cases, defy - the laws put in place, which eventually led to the succession of the southern states and the Civil War.…

Document C states that, as Northerners became “weary of the ‘Negro Question’ and ‘sick of carpet-bag’ government, many Northern voters shifted their attention to such national concerns as the Panic of 1873 and corruption in Grant’s administration.” Also, the North agreed with the fact that blacks were not fit for political duties (Doc D). And the Northerners who were still trying to fight for rights for blacks were killed. This loss of interest from the North allowed to the South to easily keep opposing Reconstruction, and finally, killing it.…

The reasons for this were because there was extreme racism and President Grant ignored the rebuilding for a period of time. Though the KKK and South corruption played a big part of the ending, Reconstruction wouldn’t have ended if it weren’t for the North, because they were the ones still moving it along in the first place with their hope. The North had started Reconstruction, so it makes sense that the North had to have finished it, and it did. One of the many causes of the North ending Reconstruction was because people lost hope. The fact that the blacks were to be free and the nation would start new and forget about the past was all too good to be true. The nation had to find their balance between the Southerners and Northerners where they could have a good…

1- Why was the country so divided by Reconstruction? Several incidents were in action at the time of the reconstruction. The initial plan, lead by the President Lincoln ensisted that each state would have to change their constitution in order to enter once again into the union. Also, ten percent of able voters from each state had to pledge allegiance to the union. Reactions from this movement to once again have the states unionized was frowned upon by the Republicans, who thought it was too weak a sentence for the disobeying southerners.…

Reconstruction of the South should have ended the moment it started. Reconstruction was the period after the civil war (1865-1877) in which the nation tried to rebuild itself. There was a great effort in trying to rebuild the nation and figure out what to do with the freedmen. There was also a problem with who would pay for the South’s reconstruction. The North wanted equality for the African-American slaves and the South lacked interest in equality. This was a major factor in the death of reconstruction since the South did not have any interest in rebuilding with African-American slaves. Both sides contributed to the death of reconstruction although the South had been more at fault. The South and North were definitely the focal killers of reconstruction since they both had many causes to the downfall of reconstruction.…
