Rhetorical Analysis Of Roosevelt's Speech By D. Roosevelt

Roosevelt had a strong speech, he gives strong reasons that help give emotion and meaning into his speech. He stated that Pearl Harbor was bombed killing many Americans. Roosevelt states “I regret to tell you that very many American lived have been lost” This gives emotion and anger into the speech, he also adds that many American ships were torpedoed in between San Francisco and Honolulu.
This puts emotion in the speech that makes us want to strike back. Another solid reason in his speech was that we were had a peace deal, Japan violated that when they attacked us yet we were still at peace. Roosevelt said “ This gives Americans even more anger, not only was the attack deadly and killed many, it also was during a peace deal with Japan. This
helps him form a strong argument and he made it strong with emotion and shows that he intends to go to war with Japan

H.e makes a mistake when he says he believes he interprets the will of congress and the people. This is bad because he is talking about not just being defensive but also going on the offensive. Some Americans could have not wanted that, congress could have not wanted that. He should've said it differently so he isn't saying it is their will too. This could have cost him his speech to force his will upon others.
