Rhetorical Analysis Of Trump's Inauguration Address
Trump is one of the more interesting presidents the United States has had in its two-hundred and forty-one years of existence. What makes Trump interesting is that he’s arguably one of the most unqualified presidents the United States has ever had due to him having no political experience, only business experience, prior to becoming the president. However, even though he’s arguably unqualified you wouldn’t notice it by the way Trump carries himself. When Trump gave his Inauguration speech he spoke and looked like a strong leader who was born to lead a country. Along with all those things he used hand gestures and kept eye contact with the audience the whole time to keep them engaged in what he was saying. Now even though his speech was great, he is only human, therefore having a few small flaws during his speech. One was being the structure to his speech. Even though it was his organizational pattern was pretty clear and easy to follow it was hard to distinguish the end of his introduction and beginning of his body as there didn’t seem to be a clear transition between the two. Even though the transition wasn’t clear after the introduction, after he finished talking about the main points of his speech he had a clear and identifiable transition to his conclusion. Speaking of his main points they were easy to spot, as they were the state America has fallen into, What the country needs to do to get us out of this state, and lastly what we need to do as a country in order to not fall into the state America is currently in. As you can see by his main points Trump was going in chronological order for his speech. When talking about his main points Trump used many stylistic devices such as repetition, parallelism, antithesis, and many other devices.
