Rhetorical Analysis On Abortion
A few more facts would be that since abortions have been legalized there has been around “53 million abortions, so about 1.4 millions per year. Also it mentions that women have 0.6 in 100,000 chance of dying from a legal abortion while the risk of giving birth is 14 times higher. Also that there have been more US state abortion restrictions were enacted between 2011 and 2013 (205 in total) than were adopted during the whole previous decade”(Para. 1) . Which leads into another argument for abortions is giving you a lot of facts connecting women's rights (suffrage) with abortion. She uses women's suffrage and what we have tried to overcome in the past as a platform and a advocacy to connect and mention abortions as one in the same thing. She also mentions that abortion became an infamous symbol that was recognized as an “ …show more content…
Even though they were doing that they plainly just voted against female human rights by voting against abortion. She uses ethos by dropping republicans names and President Nixon name to show that even the most accomplished men in power believed that our rights as women should be stepped on just for them to better have poll results with the conservatives. Also fearing that if they were to legalized it during a time where more women was stepping out and becoming more freeing of themselves make our country look bad as a whole. Which I would say that's exactly what happened because people been stuck on old idea that's big it's legalized they have a new contraceptive without the risk of rash breakout from birth control or not feeling the “real” pleasure of sex because your being restrained by a condom nor having to be worried if you took your pill or

Justin Trudeau’s interview from the National Post illustrates his contradictory views about abortion. The intention of the author is to show Trudeau’s opinion on abortion whether he will agree with is faith or his political party. It is effective, since he clearly explains his opinion and the liberal opinion saying“I am personally pro-life and have long held these beliefs,” and “The liberal party is the party of chart of rights and freedom.” Trudeau present’s how he keeps his point of view to himself however letting women have the choice of an abortion. Justin Trudeau should take a stand against abortion, in hope that*, it will make the murdering of children illegal. Justin Trudeau should not describe himself as two people, the real him…

For decades the issue of abortion has drawn the attention of politicians and civilians alike, and regardless of any political or religious affiliation, every one has a static opinion, and neither side is backing down. The issue is the morality of safe and legal abortions for women. Coming to rise in the late 1970’s, abortion laws led to the creation of two strong groups; the pro-life party, fighting for the lives of future children, and the pro-choice party, fighting for the right for women to get abortions if they decide to. Pro-choice supporters have often been identified as feminists, working on behalf of women’s civil liberties; however, the pro-life feminist party, while still being…

Oaks analytical focus is on the FFL Outreach Program in the United States (whom of which are challenging the connection between feminism and abortion). These feminists believe that abortion is an issue that is degrading society’s future social structure. Oaks uses various FFL literature, lectures, and reports from 1990 to 2008 to support her analysis of pro-life feminists (though it is noted these feminists and the FFL are to have been around since the 1970s). She continues to stick to the data at hand and presents the arguments in which at first appears to be a fairly un-biased manor. With then the exceptions being directed to page 183 and the very end where she distinctly argues that these feminists are doing a great deal of good to help pregnant woman (mainly students) but they fail to recognize the reality of woman’s pregnancy views and experiences, and also the constitutional right to not have a…

I don't agree with most of what the author says. When the author brings up abortion, they state "Liberals are so convinced that abortion is the best choice for women experiencing unexpected pregnancy..." Liberals are pro-choice, not pro-abortion. They want to respect the mother's decision, whether it is abortion or keeping the baby. Secondly, in the school choice paragraph, liberals want to fund the schools, for example, those in low-class neighborhoods, to prevent them from closing down and/or funding more classes. Still, the author did fail to provide credible sources to support their arguments, making their essay hard to stick by.…

I was deeply grieved to read your article “Abortion Without Apology: A Prescription for Getting the Pro-Choice Groove Back” in your magazine. It breaks my heart that you take a stand for choice while avoiding the topic of other choices. Contraceptives were left unmentioned, adoption was neglected, and there was an extreme emphasis on women that are impregnated due to incest or rape. These women account for less than 1% of abortions. You say you are pro-choice. What choice did those aborted children have? If a person is proclaimed dead when their heart stops, why is it they are not proclaimed alive when it starts? Abortion should not be an option. There are many alternatives leading up to this point and there continue to be options that remain…

Abortion is a life and death decision that was not intended for women to make. It is not natural, humans purposely perform abortions. Abortion is an immoral act and it should be banned. It is immoral because it is murder, it opens an opportunity for selective abortion, and it neglects unborn children’s rights. Society is fooling themselves when they think abortion is okay. There are one million two hundred abortions a year, who will keep allowing these immoral acts to take place? Humans should take a stand for these unborn babies’ lives, and not let society make it seem as if their lives are useless until they are…

She also mentions that "from a feminist perspective, however, abortion is a political issue, one which essentially concerns the interests of and power relations between men and women" . This might be true for some politicians, however, I would not label abortion as a political issue, but rather as an issue of morality. Nobody should gain from arguing on whether killings should be legal or not solely for a political benefit. This should not be an issue of feminism, but an issue of the moral ethics. Talking about how abortion is aimed against women, or benefits men, is losing the main point - the right to life of the…

The author Thomas points out some examples that people who oppose abortion get to call themselves “pro-life”. However, he disagrees with them for calling themselves “pro-life,” since pro-life can only be defined as “respect for the sanctity of life.” It is impossible for people to use “pro-life” as a reason “to protect every fertilized egg in a woman’s body.” (Thomas)…

Why is abortion wrong? Do you know? Since 1973, more than 56 million preborn babies have been destroyed due to the legalization of abortion in the United States. That’s more people than the entire population of Spain. Women should be responsible for there actions that they have made. There are more women who choose abortion as an escape of not being in charge and it is an easy way out of not being responsible. This way is not an okay decision for many women to make, they should be responsible for their actions. Abortion should be illegal because abortion is murder and murder is illegal, it can traumatize many women and can cause many diffrent types of medical complications.…

Seventy-five percent of women who died from the effects of an illegal abortion were women of color in the year 1969. In that same year ninety percent of all the legal abortions performed were received by the rich private women. The government began to legalize abortion in certain cases including if the pregnancy was the result of incest, rape, or if the woman was under fifteen years of age. In 1970, New York state passed a law stating that a woman could receive an abortion within twenty-four weeks gestation if the procedure was done in a medical facility by a trained doctor. One by one states began to pass similar laws, although many were not fond of the idea. Women who could afford or had the mobility to get to the few places in the country where abortions were legal got the legal and safe abortions that they desperately needed. For the women who could not get there, they were stuck with having the baby or having an illegal abortion and take the risk associated with the procedure. The illegal abortions were still happening and were very common throughout the United States. There were many feminist groups that would help women by giving them loans to pay for the abortions, emotional support, and they would fight to keep the price of abortion low so all women could get the abortion that would potentially cost them their life.…

Abortion should be morally permissible, in most cases, because a women’s right to her own body neutralizes the unfortunate circumstance of an aborted fetus. Abortion should only be impermissible if it is justified that a woman is getting multiple pregnancies and abortions without making use or effort of contraceptives.…

Our world today is full of unsolved and controversial issues. Most of them relate to our morals, ethics and religion, thus creating a very strong yes and no, or good and bad side. Abortion has a very outstanding black and white side but also contains traces of each in the alternating colour. This shows that if you were to come to any kind of conclusion on abortion, there would still be a downside to it, and that is primarily why the world cannot agree on this sensitive and emotional issue. An abortion is when the pregnancy is ended so that it does not result in the birth of a child. It allows women to put an end to their pregnancies, but involves killing the undeveloped embryo or fetus. For this reason, it is a very controversial subject.…
