REFLECTION PAPER
(“Rich Dad Poor Dad” Lesson 1: The Rich Don’t Work for Money)

Rich Dad Poor Dad lesson 1 really focuses on how money works on a rich person by having controlling their fear and desire. It is true that we need to control our fear and desire. If we have fear we are afraid and then after that we have the desire to have or to move on it. I usually encounter this kind of situation for example when I buy clothes, I usually have fear to bought it because I am afraid to lose money on the end but still I have the desire to buy that clothes because it is my need. But if we usually do this that fear and desire are really controlling us we should change, because we will end up nothing and afraid for something that we either want or not. “Money is not taught in schools. Schools focus on scholastic and professional skills, but not on financial skills.” In all some of the quote this thing really strikes me most, because of the thing that we usually the one can figure it out to teach us about money rather in school. It is more in skills that is developing inside a school so that we can have a better job and to have a higher income.

In school we usually study hard so that we can find a good company to work for so that we have income instead we study hard so that we can find a good company to buy. It is true that we should study more in handling money or on how money works so that on the end we know how can we buy a good company in a successful way.

Taking risk are really part of understanding money, simply because we usually give up something in order to have a bigger opportunity or to have a better chance in life. In this lesson the rich dad really teach the two children to take risk and to manage risk in order to understand the meaning of revolving their self in money. Managing risk sometimes frustrates us in a way that we ended up nothing, but we should think what the instances if we take it and manage

The short story “The Lesson” by Toni Cade Bambara is about a group of young poor children as they venture downtown to a toy store. They gaze upon all the toys in wonderment, but mostly they are shocked by the price of the toys. They feel out of place in such an upscale establishment and do not know how to act. Upon leaving the store and heading home, they reflect on how unfair society really is. There are people who are so well off they can afford toys that could feed a family for months, and other people like themselves that barely have enough money to get by. The central idea of the story is the examination of wealth and poverty in America.…

This book mainly focuses on the life of Hildegard as a spiritualist and a healer, as do most books that were written about her. It begins by outlining the basic events of her life and death; her illness as a child, her education at a convent by a woman named Jutta, and the visions she saw from an early age. She regarded these visions as gifts from God but was reluctant to share them with the world until one critical dream. “And it came to pass…when I was forty-two years and seven months old that the heavens were opened up and a blinding light… flowed through my entire brain… and I suddenly understood the meanings of the expositions of the books…” (Ch. 1, 4) This is how she describes her instantaneous understanding of the books of the bible, and is compelled to begin to write all of her visions down for the remainder of her lifetime. The book goes on to describe her daily life as the leader of a growing community of nuns, which she moved from her home town to the are of Bingen. It goes into detail of her writings on dietary needs of people of all types, spiritual needs of everyday people and then her role as a healer, showing her knowledge of plants and herbs for medicine. There is only one chapter on the musical career of Hildegard, and it mainly focuses on her lyrical style, which was quite different from other liturgical composers at the time. She followed the musical style of the period, and mostly wrote responsorial and antiphons. But the way she wrote her lyrics differed in that she was so much more visual. Her songs have a lot of metaphors and are quite emotional. An example is an antiphon written for a martyr named St Boniface. “O Boniface, the living light saw you, like a wise man, who returned to their source, the pure waters flowing from God, when you watered the greenness of the flowers. So you are the friend of the living…

“The Lesson” by Toni Cade Bambara, appears to show how some people have to strive and work to make or earn what some people are handed to, leading into an advantage. Mrs. Moore, being as wise as she is, had taught the children a powerful lesson explaining the economic inequalities in the world, giving students an open mind to change it. In the story, Miss. Moore takes the children to a toy store called F.A.O. Schwartz, allowing the kids to wander around the store. It is a known fact that these children can’t afford what the toy store has for display, allowing Sugar to speak his mind stating, “Imagine for a minute what kind of society it…

The readings made me think about how my parents raised me and my three other siblings. As a last child in my family, I was more disadvantaged than my older siblings in getting new things. Before having to request what I wanted, my sister’s and brother’s used stuffs were inherited to me. By the time I was 18 years old, it was natural for me to accept the fact that I am in charge of my own expenses and to not depend on my parent’s wallet. It is true, that many parents nowadays are trying to make up for their busy schedule with money and tangible gifts for their children. However, I agree with the writer that they should also think about what their children may be missing out when they easily can get all that they want from their parents. Children have to learn more valuable lesson of being hungry for self development that can lead to a better success.…

    b. The children see how much a particular boat cost, and they are all jaw-dropped and astonished. The children realize how precious money really is sometimes, and how scarce it is for people of their community to have what they own. Bambara states, poor people have to wake up and demand their share of the pie´ (13.) Therefore, the children learn that money does not just grow off trees. It does not matter the color of your skin or where you come from, people have to work hard for the things they want in life.…

To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary school. If you drop out or don’t go to school at all, you’ll go nowhere. Life today, money is everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first 20-25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science, but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love.…

The objective of the book is to change the reader’s psychological approach to money, success, and happiness. Like there is no such thing as a really rich victim. Rich people focus on opportunities, poor people focus on obstacles. Rich people admire other rich and successful people, poor people resent rich a successful people. Rich people are good receivers, while poor people are not. Rich people are always learning and growing, while poor people think they already know. Rich people manage their money, poor people don’t. Harv explains that the surest way to stay poor is to continue acting like the poor, by complaining, not looking for opportunities, resenting the rich, not being a good receive, not continuously learning and not managing your money. Harv has great advice and these tips are essential to understand and change your thinking about money. I find the attitude differences illuminating. Yes, it makes a big difference to focus on the positive and to spend time with positive people (not pollyana or spoiled – positive). Skills, knowledge, and persistence count too you have to be able to execute, unless you have the incredible good luck to have both a huge amount of money and a trustworthy staff. As long as you keep operating with a negative, inadequate, limited financial Self-Image, you are destined to fail no matter how smart you think you are or you are, no matter what type of business you choose, no matter how hard and how long you work at your business or job, The poor are poor because of their poor self-image. In the inside of their heads, they see themselves limited, having great difficulty making money, they believe it is real hard to make money, it takes a long time, it requires lots of sacrifices, they already imagine themselves having future problems and limitations. That is what they believe. And that is exactly what they get. The rich are rich because of their rich self-image. In the…
