Rick Riordan Writing Style
Both authors are similar yet different. They each have different characteristics, one is a vlogger on YouTube and the other formerly a teacher, but there are related features. The individualities are they are authors and both write books for young adults and preteens. The authors have various audiences despite working in a certain genre for kids and young adults, readers vary in ages. Both of these authors appeal to me because the characters face genuine problems that are in reality also. Even though the selection is fictional, the authors bring a certain realism to the example. For example, a character doesn’t fit in and has trouble at school because of a disorder. Another is a girl with cancer, whom struggles with the disease and how to …show more content…
At Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas, Rick was the editor for the 4 years he attended high school. His first major in college was music because of his absolute enthusiasm in it. Riordan reassessed and chose to double-major English and History. He began at North Texas State University for the first two years of his college experience, and later transferred to the University of Texas in Austin. The soon-to-be author walked down his path and trained to teach English and History from UT at San Antonio. As a child, Riordan was influenced by The Lord of the Rings and Norse/Greek Mythology genres. His interests include reading fantasy, science genres and mysteries. Richard Russell Riordan Jr, was born on June 5, 1964, he is 51 years of age as of 2015. His wife is Lyn Belisle, and children: Patrick and Haley. The three animals he has are two black cats and a dog, named Speedy. Mr. Riordan presently lives in the Boston area and lived in Texas when he was younger. Some of the awards he has won for his books are Edgar Award for Best Paperback Original, Goodreads Choice Awards Best Middle Grade & Children’s and the Hampshire Book Award. His net worth is more than 20 million

    One is extremely sensitive and attention-wanting, while the other is mature and mellow. One takes an idea way too far and causes an extreme internal conflict, which he will never hear the end of, while the other unintentionally causes a short-term external conflict which barely includes himself.
