Sexual abuse throughout childhood changed Lopez’s views on life and unfortunately lead him to murder human beings in order to justify what happened to him as a child. This connects to the same motivation as Garavito, which shows there is a common factor present in many serial killers.
The last serial killer who has experienced sexual abuse as a child is Tiago Henrique Gomes da Rocha. Additionally, it is said that these serial killers as children come from severely flawed families where mothers may be controlling and rejecting (Knight, 2006).
