In the modern age celebrities and role models are all around us whether they are on TV or singing your favourites song. However these are people really role models or are they people who fish for attention. Sometimes it feels as if we are constantly being judged by the media expecting to live up to the standards their role models set. But some of these “role models” can be good or bad and influential to the public eye. Some influence teenagers/adults to lead their lives into a successful one however celebrities can lead them into a life of misery to smoking or to taking drugs just to be like their role model. Like above the quote “cause I may be bad, I’m perfectly good at it” implies, negatively, that she is “bad” and she is really good at it. She is basically saying to young adults that it is ok to be bad because you can achieve anything but that is not the point; if more people start changing their behaviour to be like Rihanna the world would be chaotic. Rihanna has done many bad things in her life to drinking to smoking drugs. This can have a negative impacts on her fans as they will want to be like her and do whatever she is doing. This will more than likely cause the younger generation to start smoking drugs which is not acceptable. Recently a case came out that Rihanna was abused by another popular “role model” Chris brown. However Rihanna herself still proceeded to love the famous Chris brown after being badly abused by him. This shows that Rihanna is being a bad influence on young adults because it basically saying that it is ok to hit your girlfriend because she will still stay with you. Her controversial music videos and, has been banned from 11 countries. There was a certain fragility underneath that tough girl exterior. In the quote “I’m a rebel, a rebel flower” could imply that Rihanna may be seen as a tough and rebellious person but really inside she is actually a good person trapped inside a bad skin.
