Rise Of The Creative Class Analysis
The Income Break

The income inequality is just the difference in the salaries of the different class of people and/or jobs. In The Rise of the Creative Class, Richard Florida takes a look at wages all across the U.S in order to compare and contrast wages. He does a breakdown of the 3 classes that he talks about earlier in the book and from there compare the wages. In one chart that is displayed he shows that Connecticut has the highest income but then he has another graph that shows otherwise. I don’t believe this could be halted because people of different jobs feel as if they deserve different levels of pay, which I do agree to. In recent research I found that many people fall outside of the Creative Class because of their education levels

But as the example of China—or India, for that matter—illustrates,…

Wealth inequality is also a major issue between the rich and the poor. Wealth is “the value of assets owned by an individual of family at a point in time. (Gilbert, 277). Even though the rich do pay taxes, it doesn’t affect them as bad as the poor. They are still able to live comfortably because of the property that they owned. These properties are sometimes inherited and passed down to them. Not only that, but it is most likely that they also have some sort of savings or safety net to maintain their lifestyle in case anything should happen. The poor on the other hand, even though they have to pay taxes as well, this can affect them drastically. Simply because majority of the time they do not own much. They do not own any property,…

Education is another cause of income inequality. The more education or training you get the more you will get paid and the faster you will climb up the ladder in the company. Most companies do not hire anyone off the street, getting a successful job requires skill and education. For example, the St. Cloud Hospital will not hire a nurse unless they have a four year bachelor's degree. No matter if a nurse had thirty years of experience but no bachelor’s degree, they would hire someone with a four year degree who just got out of school any day of the…

There are many people that have problems about income inequality. This country is filled with immigrants that are trying to use our government's programs to provide for their families. It is inevitable to change the different amount of income people make. The problem is how those earnings are dispersed and where the money is actually going to. Today, there are many changes in American society that affect your income such as where you live, technological advancements, etc. Many questions arise when discussing income inequality. How can the government equally disperse the money? Are the rich getting richer or the poor getting poorer? Who does society favor more, rich or poor? The wage gap is increasing at an alarming rate, and even though a certain amount of inequality is valuable, income inequality harms our society because it restrains upward mobility between generations, and too much income compromises the ability for the American government to give equal political voice to all of its citizens.…

The United States exhibits wider disparities of wealth between rich and poor than any other major developed nation,” (www.inequality.org) There are two factors that I believe contribute to the wealth gap are income and race inequalities. As the gaps widen within those two factors, the wealth gap in the United States continues to grow exponentially.…

Inequality exists around us. One of the inequalities is the income received by a person or member of a family. Income inequality refers to the various incomes within a given population. This income includes wages, salaries, pensions, and interest derived from the assets. The economy nowadays is very dynamic and is constantly growing, but the top is absorbing the biggest portion of the growth. As Arthur Okun once said: “Inequality is the price America pays for a dynamic, efficient economy; we may not like it, but the alternatives are worse. As long as the bottom and the middle are moving up, there is no reason to mind if the top is moving up faster, except perhaps for an ideological grudge against the rich—what conservatives call the politics…

Inequality is the unequal distribution of valued goods and opportunities in a society. Over the past two decades, there has been an increase in economic inequality in the United States. Four major reasons for this increase is the changing relationship between technological expansion and education, deindustrialization and restructuring, government policies, and decline of unions. Technology in the United States has advanced immensely since the 1970s. This has led to peoples jobs being replaced by technology, for example bank tellers have been replaced by ATMs, and a higher level of education is now needed to use the technology for jobs.…
