Athletes are continually acquiring injuries that alter their lives forever, but the reality is they are fully responsible for those injuries because they put themselves at that risk. In the article, “Risk is an ugly reality in sports” by Josh Aldrich, he claims, “These sports have always been dangerous and the possibility of life-altering injuries has always been a real risk. Two men running into each other at full speed is extremely dangerous, and if athletes can not notice that sports come with risk, then there is a problem. It is all common sense, someone is obviously going to get hurt. There is no one who needs to explain to these athletes that football is a dangerous sport.
