They are not actual zombies, they are homeless people who have a dirty, old and gross appearance. As a child, he is scared of them because they look frightening and mean, however, that’s just how he is assuming they actually are based on how they look. The little boy has a best friend named Sumaya. Sumaya has a brother who becomes a zombie and Sumaya is very frightened of him. The protagonist holds her tight when they walk past the zombies so she doesn’t get scared and thinks about her brother. She doesn’t like it when she thinks about him. However, he’s not like the other clouds, he is a storm cloud, so he makes dangerous things like sharks, electric eels, porcupines, etc. The storks are what bring the children and animals down to earth, but it’s hard to bring an eel to earth without getting electrocuted, so the bird has to deal with all these dangerous things and he is not happy. Eventually, the stork moves to a different cloud because the things that the storm cloud is making are too hard for him to handle. When the bird appears cheerful, the storm cloud becomes furious, causing lightning and thunder. However, when he loses his friend, he becomes saddened. This cloud is very upset and alone, but he hears something land behind him. The bird went to the other cloud to get protective gear so he could stay out of the storm cloud! The cloud was so happy that the bird didn’t leave him. This is a change in perspective from the stork of the storm
