Roger And Doris: Similarities And Differences
Have you ever had a darkest moment then something good happens to you? Well the same thing happened with Roger and Doris. In both of the story “Thank you, Ma’am” by Langston Hughes, and “Stray” by Cynthia Rylant. Roger and Doris have similarities and differences. They are both poor, something good happens to them, but their life styles are both different. Roger and Doris are similar in many ways. Roger is poor so that is why he went out to steal money from a lady named Mrs. Luella bates Washington jones. While, Doris couldn't even afford a dog, that's why her mom was sensitive about throwing out food. Also other similarities they both want something. For example Roger wanted some blue suede shoes. But Doris wanted a dog to
keep her company. They both share the same theme in the story. Good things can happen at your darkest moments. Roger and Doris they are also both different. Roger didn't really have parents that took care of him, because if he did then he wouldn't be out on the street snatching pocketbooks. Doris had parents that did care about her, even though her parents did not really show it. Her dad showed it by letting her keep the dog. Another thing is that Roger got some new blue suede shoes but while Doris got a new puppy. Roger tried to steal a purse from Mrs. Jones. Then Doris was so close to losing that dog until her dad noticed that the pound was a mess.
So Roger and Doris are really similar to each other but they are also both different
